Insane. Actually insane. Let’s make his money this year a waste, shall we?

Mike Nellis@mikenellis.bsky.social

Elon Musk has spent more money on American elections in the last two years than George Soros has in his entire life.

These changes are causing quite a bit of stir in the space science community, and many of us have a *lot* of questions. However, the biggest issue with NASA's missions isn't a lack of industry involvement or length of review. It's that NASA lacks the money to fly missions regularly.

Democrats are preparing to investigate Musk if they win control of the House in November, Politico reports. Potential probes would focus on his DOGE leadership, federal job cuts, alleged data breaches, government contracts and Starlink’s role in Ukraine.

Trump and Musk are pressuring Zelensky to hand over territory to Putin so Trump/Musk can resume business as usual in Russia Hard for the UK and rest of NATO to talk about Trump's US as an ally. Zelensky is telling it how it is because he's not much more to lose. This is a dark hour.

Piers Morgan: Do you feel betrayed? 🇺🇦 Zelensky: Yes. It's a pity that we are losing a strong partner. Piers Morgan: You think you're losing America? 🇺🇦 Zelensky: Yeah, but not because of us. We can't be weak. We're not selling our country. Look, It's our lives. It's our country, home, children.

Nowhere in that long, rambling word salad would you ever get any inkling, if you didn’t know it, that Putin attacked and invaded Ukraine unprovoked & could end the war at any instant simply by… not doing that anymore.

This is going to be very appealing to the all-important "After three days, I suddenly noticed that my child was missing" voting demographic.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

Trump: "They want to cut your children. It's unbelievable what they do. Your son leaves as Jimmy and comes home in three days as Janet, and they don't even ask you. They can take your child out of school and do whatever the hell they want. Minnesota is one of those states."

This is disgusting, but not unexpected. The Trump administration is putting their thumb on the scales for Putin, despite the fact that it’s Russia violating the energy ceasefire.

This is Nazi rhetoric, full stop. It's not only a call to instigate a race war in the United States, but it's reminiscent of historic European justifications used to incite pogroms against Jews. People who say things like this are incredibly dangerous, as there is nothing they won't eventually do.

One thing I’ve noticed in 6 years of Trump: when he tries to cheat, he bumblefucks it spectacularly. Martial law doesn’t provide a mechanism for cancelling elections. I think it would have the exact opposite effect - turnout is already going to be high, that would send it to the stratosphere.

tsjackson.bsky.social reposted

He could absolutely *try* to declare martial law. It’s been telegraphed so much, and there’s clearly no national emergency. It would be knocked down by a court almost immediately.

Interesting tidbit from today's briefing at the Outer Planets Assessment Group (OPAG) meeting by NASA planetary leadership: NASA is considering *two* flagships for flight—one to Uranus, the other to orbit and land on Enceladus. Both were Decadal priorities—but in series, not one over the other.
