Now listen buddy, I'm an engineer, that means I solve problems. Not problems like, "what is beauty" because that would fall within the confines of your pervues of philosophy.... No, I solve -practical- problems. #yyj

White supremacists at the Legislature. A Nazi flag in Saanich. I am horrified & heartbroken for BC’s marginalized communities. We stand with everyone targeted by this hate, and will fight tirelessly for a province where everyone can live a safe, dignified life.

Record low NDP voter turnout caused this. 275,000 fewer NDP votes. Congratulations to the #BCGreens the only party to actually gain votes. I never want to hear about "strategic voting" again. The NDP couldn't even be bothered to vote "strategically" for their own party. #bcpoli #cdnpoli

Alright you sickos here's your "speculate wildly about vote splitting" chart. In total, 13 ridings had a greater NDP+Green share than the Conservative winner. But given the margins and that Green voters aren't a monolith, I think only those top 4 Island ridings are a significant cause for wonder.

Oh this is neat. Takes fewer votes to be an MLA for Victoria (10407) than it does to be a city councilor (13103), true for both ridings, but swan lake includes part of saanich. Would be interesting to see the stats on the different elections. Arthur McInnis (12,931) has more votes than Grace Lore.

And those 3193 voters, for that unnamed one, did they not get the memo? Do they not know how representative democracies work?? Do they actually agree with whatever that guy was saying??? I'm not sure which is worse, I'd like to hope it's ignorance but I just don't know any more.

This is good actually, I've been entirely too positive with the direction of the province. It's too boring. I just don't quite feel alive until the government is actively stepping their boot against my throat. Canadians have had it far too easy, we yearn for the suffering of austerity.

This was my turning point. I paid to join the BCNDP to vote for Appadurai and the neoliberals ousted her from the vote, affirming the guaranteed appointment of the rich white guy. Since then, I have been increasingly angry at the BCNDP. As of tonight, they are officially as bad as the Liberals were

well, guess all you can do is wish the BC conservatives good luck as they work to uhh (skimming thru their online presence and recent party history) immediately become hobbled by infighting over what's the right way to do racism then self immolate before any of em find out what government is exactly

A majority of British Columbians just announced they are: -Climate Change Deniers -Transphobes -Racists -Genocide Deniers and I'm sorry but I am no longer proud to call this province home. We have a serious problem. I do not feel safe in this province anymore. This is a very dark moment.

Knew there was something fishy about all those “Our [Blank], Our Victoria” Facebook groups. Saw this Gaultier guy floating around their comment sections, too. Explains why they never replied to my incessant comments asking who was behind them!

Getting this out of the way early: if you share vote prediction screenshots for individual ridings from election projection websites And frame it as a poll or something with authority And there has been no actual polling done in that riding I will think much less of you please don't annoy me

Can anyone ELI5 what Eby did? I just woke up and the last 5 months are a blur. NDP has been doing great in my view, still, I voted for green this time around, because they are awesome and can do a better job.

Are people convinced with the track record of the conservatives, genuinely? I feel like everyone answers with some variance of debt, eby, green bad split. It's this thread specifically, hundreds of sock puppets coming out of the woodwork to proclaim their love for the colour blue.

Now I see people coming out of the woodwork on Reddit to proclaim their love for blue, wtf happened? It feels like a massive astroturf. I'm not even sure where these poll numbers are coming from but everything feels made up.

Polling Canada Final British Columbia Model: 🔵 CON: 57 - (46-68 Likely Seats) 🟠 NDP: 34 - (23-45 Likely Seats) 🟢 GRN: 2 - (2-3 Likely Seats) - October 23, 2026 - Full model here: www.canadianpolling.com/p/ebys-elect...

Remember that time that BC United threw in the towel in the middle of the election and endorsed John Rustad and the Conservatives? It's not too late for Mr. Eby to call it quits and endorse Ms. Lowen!

Last weekend, progressives won Vancouver Council and the Mayor’s chair against their right wing opponent by cooperating & not splitting the vote. It was a powerful illustration that cooperation wins. This weekend, will the provincial NDP & Greens do the exact opposite and lose to the Conservatives?

There was a time, not all that long ago, when our ancestors would look up at sky in wonderment. Today the answer of space is known. It's out there, not to be concerned with. We've been there, done that. It is very hostile, would not go again. There is nothing unknown left to explain with astrology.
