Development of ReScript V13 is going well. We now have ways to make sense of a PR diff much quicker. We call it "semantic diff". Example attached.

I'm working on the LEGO Rivendale set. The thing is massive and I'm about 9 hours into the build, and I think I'm just about halfway done.

For the life of me i do not understand why more people don't use ReScript Better, simpler type system then Typescript. All the guarantees of a lib like Effect *and more* but compiles to fast, optimized JS. Compiler itself is fast and scales easily. Bindings are easy with agents. What gives?

Effect should be the standard library in any serious Typescript project.

Effect v4 is here. One ecosystem. Zero dependencies. The next chapter of Effect and the foundation for building reliable software and AI agents in TypeScript. Read the full announcement below: effect.website/blog/release...

LLM: this code is special it's impossible to test. I need to exclude it from the coverage reports. Me: No, it's not. LLM: You're right, I agree. I'll write those tests now.

Death to the barrel files!

Lars@webpro.nl

❌🛢️ unbarrelify v1.1.4 is out Fully automated cleanup: unbarrelify rewrites consumers to import directly from source, then deletes the barrel files. Why? Read more at github.com/webpro-nl/un... Trust me, you don't want to do this by hand and your agent will screw up and bill you nonetheless. 👇

This is how fines should work for trillion dollar companies. "Lawyers for xAI argued that the law violates First Amendment protections and said the penalties are too steep, potentially costing a business whose users created 100,000 prohibited images “an eye-popping $50 billion dollars.”"

Lora Kolodny@lorak.bsky.social

SpaceX-owned xAI, the developer of Grok, sued Minnesota AG to challenge a law coming into effect in the state that will ban "nudify" apps, use of these AI image generators to make non-consenting intimate images, aka AI deepfake porn of real people including minors. www.cnbc.com/2026/07/28/s...

If you run a platform that creates 100,000 nude deep fakes, the platform should be driven into the ground by fines, and the people running it should go to jail. And if you can't make the platform not do those things, you are morally obligated to shut it down until you can control it.

@zed.dev continues to get better every day! I love the worktree picket and the ability to quickly create a new agent thread in an existing worktree, or to create a new worktree. I'm experimenting with planning in one thread and worktree and then passing off implementation while I continue to plan.

This is magnificent! I've been reading the Foundation books and it's such a strong series. I'm on Foundation's Edge now, and it's cool to see the changes in Asimov's style 40 years after the the first book. He was always a great writer, but his prose aged like fine wine.

HARI (1985) Acrylic on Canvas - 32” x 20” Hari Seldon, the benevolent grand architect of the next millennium is seen here against the splendor of Trantor at the height of its power. It is a world completely sheathed in metal: one gigantic city that is the hub and nerve center of the Empire. 1/5 🪐📚

Whenever I read books from an author that was writing for 30+ years and you can see how they hone their craft it makes me sad for the authors that died young, such as Robert E. Howered. Imagine reading a Conan or Soloman Kane style series from that guy after he'd been writing for 40 years.

And here it is with most of the supports removed. "A warsworn is an animate mass of corpses composed of dozens, sometimes even hundreds, of victims of battle."

One of the greatest feelings is waking up to a successful 3D print that took 9 hours over night.

Does anyone out there have experience running or playing the Stormbringer or Elric ttrpgs? I love the setting. The Eric books are my favorite fantasy stories and I have a Stormbringer tattoo. I like OSR systems so I think I would like it.

Well this is crazy. Everyone started texting me asking if I heard a boom and I missed it because I had the kids in a McDonald's play space, which apparently is loader than a meteor exploding that could be heard in 3 states. www.cbsnews.com/boston/news/...

Celeborn: Tell me, where is Gandalf? For I much desire to speak with him. I no longer see him on Slack. Galadriel: Gandalf the Grey did not log on today. His status has fallen into shadow. Legolas: He was laid off by the Balrog of Morgoth. Our roadmap needlessly prioritized a Moria-first strategy.

I haven't used Axios since 2016, and I've always questioned people who still use it.

Augustin Mauroy@augustin-mauroy.bsky.social

🚀 Still using Axios in Node.js? You might not need it anymore. Why switch? ✅ Native support ✅ Fewer dependencies ✅ Better standards alignment ✅ Reduced security surface ✅ Potential performance improvements nodejs.org/en/blog/migr...

Before you use abstractions you have to understand the platform you're targeting. Don't use React if you don't know JavaScript, CSS, and HTML. It's weird because 10 years ago every front-end job wanted experience with HTML5 and CSS3, and honestly we should bring that back.

Rachele DiTullio@racheled.bsky.social

I don’t care what framework or design system you build with, you need to know how components get rendered in the browser, in HTML.

This is why I love Zed. It's fast. I don't have the patience to wait 10 years to see a diff and hope the UI doesn't crash.

Zed@zed.dev

Big diff go brrrrr

I've discovered that ReScript's pattern matching can help create unit tests that are easy to understand when something breaks.

This sums up a lot of how I feel about AI. I'm using it and I do think it's helpful, but I'm sad that the art or writing good, clean code is no longer talked about or relevant. I am hoping that the hype and bubble burst and things go back to normal.

Mark Erikson@acemarke.dev

I wrote about everything I've felt, feared, and experienced about using AI for code over the last few years, and my opinions on where we stand. It's the most personal thing I've ever written. And I'm putting it out there to share with all of you. blog.isquaredsoftware.com/2026/05/ai-t...
