Say more. Their negative statements about the bill to the press were claims for payment, weren't they. They were saying that they needed to see pledges for their campaign funds before they'd vote for it. And they always cave because they always get the money. There's no shortage of money for votes.

Would love it if you could give a good explanation of what exactly happens behind closed doors from your experience to get them to cave. Money directly into their pockets, favors, etc? Is obvious they don’t actually care about their constituents, so what are they personally gaining to be so evil?
