You know, nobody was talking about the Epstein files until Trump made it a big part of his campaign. He always makes something a big deal and then makes it worse. It’s literally the only thing he’s capable of doing.

Charts made of buildings and the Reflecting pool? Like the Painting sealing? The pool bottom painting is on par in his mind as building the tallest buildings in USA! His brain is Toast!

It’s not like he mentioned it in every press conference. Never had anything made at Kinkos. Constantly mentioned Biden/Obama not doing anything about it. Informed everyone the Lincoln monument was next to it as he just learned about it.

MAGA dipshits and trump made it a big deal and set off to “fix” it. So naturally they’re upset that their dear leader completely fucked it up by turning it into a primordial swamp. Now these intellectually challenged goofs are embarrassed and upset. Good. Hahaha 😂

Nobody cared until trump spent $14,000,000 on another nobid contract to a "friend" that did not know what he was doing. Libtards think, not follow blindly.

2/2 Department of the Interior (DOI) confirmed that the newly installed $1.7 million underground ozone nanobubbler system is fully operational and currently running at maximum capacity to clean the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. They don't remove physical mass: .Manual vacuuming is required

1/2 It’s Photosynthesis. Chlorophyll & Sunlight, in action. Algae blooms contain chlorophyll, the green pigment used to undergo photosynthesis. The Reflecting Pool’s shallow, broad design makes it vulnerable to algae. The darker blue bottom causes shallow water to heat up quickly in the summer,

What a mess the DJT MAGA advisors and PR guys of David Dennison, John Barron, and John Miller have made of these “renovations”, bragging that the extra 20% estimate his pool guys gave him for almost $16 M to coat a massive stone surfaced reflecting pool, was worth it to get done before his birthday

Think Everly Brothers: Green, green green green Green, green green green When I reflect on this pool, I see a 14 million dollar fool. Hope for something nice But all ever see is green.

Nobody else made it such a big deal They just let maintenance staff do their jobs. trump decided to make it national headlines and spend millions of dollars to "fix" the pool, now people are just correctly pointing out that it's full of algae

Maybe they should have installed a filtration system like a pool has and added some chlorine and whatever other chemicals that were needed before they spent 15 million on paint. Felon47 said he knows about pools I built pools in my failed hotels. I guess he doesn't know about pools.

Like Iran, he creates a problem where there isn’t one, goes back to the original idea and claims he fixed the problem he created and expects everyone to think he’s a genius

I am no fan of Trump. Yes he requested this procedure be done at a very high cost. However doesn’t the company & workers have any part in this fiasco? This can’t be their first pool renovation. They had to know the consequences. In any statement from any media source it’s only Trump that is blamed.

I once hired my unemployable nephew to paint a bedroom. Paint everywhere, including in the bathtub, where he dropped off the brushes and roller, without cleaning them. What a freaking mess. Whose fault? My fault. And lesson learned.

It's why a thing called a Scope of Work is issued giving time to respond (with questions asked and answered), bids and references taken, analyzed, then awarded. Pretty much done a lot of places around the world, standard in America with some exceptions for very low cost (<$10,000 or so) jobs.

There does seem to be a greater degree of algae in the water these days. The Great Lakes are showing flotsams of algae floating on the surface than previously seen - wonder if it is indicative of global warming?

magat logic in 4 steps: 1. We will make X great again! It will be best ever! 2. Eff it up 3. Why do you keep talking about X, libtard? 4. We will make Y great again!

If only Trump wouldn't bloviate that what he did was much better than prior administrations. 🙄 His dumb ass is why anyone noticed that he fucked up AGAIN!

Nobody cared when it was just regular maintenance. Trump turned it into a spectacle, just like everything, every boring normal aspect of government is a complete crisis when Trump gets his hands on it because he refuses to just do things normally.

It isn’t a swimming pool, it’s a reflecting pool, and is treated differently than any pool at Mar-a-Lago! Previous Presidents didn’t mess with it and it just worked. Therefore, no issues! Trump repaints it dark blue, changing the chemistry and warming the water, NOW we have a mess.

It is worth noting that while we are talking about the color of water from Trump's latest screw up, we aren't talking about the fact that what seems like a lot of men got away with abusing children, or the abuse ICE does, or the insane energy policy, or the outright fraud, or cost of living...

Exactly. We wouldn't have cared much about any of this if Trump not only didn't brag and promote it as some monumental event, but also fail at nearly every aspect of it. Same goes for the Iran "deal", the ballroom, ending the Russia/Ukraine war...the results do not live up to the hype. He failed.

This person appears to be a Trumplican idiot. They didn’t do anything but clean it once in a while because IT WAS DOING WHAT IT WAS BUILT FOR: reflecting the Washington monument and a nice blue sky. Why are trumplicans so universally stupid?

People wouldn't care if he wasn't so focused on remaking DC, while people's are struggling to survive. People wouldn't care if he got buy in from Congress, including oversight. So we would know its been done in a responsible way and not him trying to enrich himself more.

I suppose they didn't think about the fact that the dark paint would encourage algae growth at a much faster rate. But I'm sure that is Biden and Obama's fault.

As a “libtard”, I did CARE but I also understood the JCPOA. It made sense. It was not a coup for Netanyahu. We were also not PROMISED a plan, ceasefire day after day only to see each morning start a new round of bombing.

Bibi and the GOP promised us a "better deal" on Iran beginning in 2015. And now they have given us a failed war and the biggest sellout since Neville Chamberlain gave Czechoslovakia to Hitler at the infamous Munich conference in 1938.

This libtard has never given one thought about the reflecting pool. Recently, however, Trump spent $15 million of tax money in a no-bid contract for his pool guy to redo the pool. Trump said it would be beautiful blue. Instead it is puke green. We paid for it.

Nobody cared until the Ignoranus threw 14 million dollars at a project that should have cost 2 million and then failed to make any discernible difference. Trump phucked it up and only has himself and his unqualified Pool Boi to blame.

Trump used this as a way to launder money into his pocket, which is why he does anything he does. As always, he didn’t fix shit in his theft of taxpayers dollars but rather made it worse. And now we’ll have to put more tax dollars toward fixing what Trump fucked up in his theft scheme

Nobody cared til Trump wasted $14,000,000 on it, made it worse, then blamed everyone else for it. It’s what incompetent grifting cucks do.

Granite for the pool was sourced from the same quarry as the rest of the Lincoln Memorial. Who paints granite? Imagine how much it will cost to restore it? Trump is maliciously funneling tax payer $$$ to himself & friends. If he stayed at a hotel, damages would be charged. We need to charge him.

True. All republicans did during Obama’s 2 terms was nonstop racist dog whistling, blocking 60 Senate votes for universal healthcare (even Mexico has it now), passed 0 bipartisan legislation after the racist Tea Party takeover of the House in 2010 to help the average American. And here we are.

Which side has Trump Derangement Syndrome, the people who get pissed off at him, or the people who pretend that he's not proactively (and very publicly!) doing horrible shit.

The projects Trump is doing (ballroom, arch, reflection pool) are not priorities. When inflation has increased to a point many are struggling, the optics are extremely poor to focus on things which do nothing to improve day to day lives.

Constitution Gardens Lake, next door to the Reflecting Pool, has not been renovated since it was built a long time ago, has disgusting algae blooms and fish kills every year, and no one ever notices.

Maybe after they tackle the prob they made w the reflecting pool they could stay on the topic of harmful water & look into all the glyphosate, e-coli etc in iowas water & the exorbitant amount of (new) cancer cases here each year. It’s like a slow death sentence 4 people who can’t afford to move.

Nobody cared about it until Trump made a stink about it, spent millions, and produced no beneficial results. Uncanny resemblance to his Iran debacle. Uncanny resemblance to most of what this administration does. Throw money and might at things and hope for positive results rather than develop a plan

The pool and the plumbing needed work. So I can't get too upset. But it seems like it was mostly cosmetic and short term fixes. And it seems like they skipped the plumbing. And they directed funding away from other National Parks. So it seems like vanity, done poorly, and over-hyped.

You should be upset as the sealant is peeling and it's full of algae and this was a rushed job given to a friend coming in way over budget and with a higher than average profit margin. I wonder if the contractor is going to fix the mess they made.

Frightening how deep, intractable, and HUGE the stupidity runs in some MAGA supporters. I think we are down to the last 25% - the rest starting to turn with each blunder and humiliation. The last few percent will never give up. They’ll be like old Stalinists who still visit his grave. Cultists.

The doofus from X doesn't get that if there was an issue with the pool it was done naturally it wasn't enhanced because some nut job that didn't know what the fuck they were doing had it painted blue which escalated the issues.

I thought Phosphorous fertilizer was illegal for non-farming purposes. They don’t sell phosphorous in residential fertilizer anymore. It’s rare, and it causes algal blooms in ponds, streams, and oceans. I bet they use it on the nearby grass. Only a small amount remains in soils and most washes away

Seems to be a lot of farms, upriver, whose runoff reaches the Potomac River. Failing septic systems as well as sewage treatment plants that discharge into the river can also lead to high phosphorus levels.

Where is that chart he held up to show his algae pool is the largest. Coming from a man obsessed with fake numbers. A global warming solution, perhaps, build these algae pools across the nation such up that CO2.
