Real passion, falling into the b.s. of "explicitly Nazi movement". MAGA's the slogan of a broad movement born of vicious political fighting. Some MAGA are Nazis, and some are increasingly at risk of that, but most aren't nearly there-- and painting with broad brushstrokes is EXACTLY how we got here.

That's not personally applicable, but I appreciate the value of that perspective. The focus is wrong and counterproductive: MAGA is demonstrably filled with Project 2025, not Nazi values, and Project 2025 is much more than enough to work against.

Falling into the b.s. of using disparate voter intentions to whitewash a fascist administration. Trump’s campaign, Project 2025, the actions of the first and second Trump administrations, all are explicitly fascist. MAGA is a fascist movement, regardless of the rationales people made to vote for it.

They all believe, even if they don't have the vocabulary for it, that there are natural places for pure/degenerate people, and the function of a state is to enforce that. It's the core of reactionary supremacist ideology and, while people can change, they can't be reasoned out of it by strangers. +

Which is to say, for us that dream of a different future, they're the enemy. They're not ignorant of their passions, liberals are the naive ones for falling for the Illuministic delusion of politics = reason. Arguing over names and flags is irrelevant. In any meaningful sense, it's a Nazi movement.

It's helpful to identify ideas, beliefs and actions as "the enemy", instead of human beings. Labeling half of America as "the enemy" right now seems naive, in a very different and IMO more practical way than you've constructed.

They trump up charges afterwards to discourage behavior they don't like. The behavior was approaching the bench without permission. He knew this would lead to detention, just like it would in a court. It was an act of self sacrifice.

Speakers aren’t allowed to go past the podium, which is why Chris is doing it as his non-violent protest. The cop is running up to detain him. Chris was arrested and eventually charged with “disturbing an assembly.”

Yeah. And Kluwe has someone in his mentions saying that they’ve run school board meetings in the same community where there have been death threats and physical altercations, but the cops simply removed the aggressors and didn’t bother with charges. This is strictly punitive.

Real answer: The bailiff? detained him because he entered the well (space in the center of the hearing room, between witness and the bench). They always try to trump up charges against people who do so because they want to discourage it "for their safety". And to put down his political speech.
