It’s true. But it’s like the SALT caps that were enacted to punish Blue states. When Conservative voters pushed back and in some cases even got their Republican Congresspeople to side with Democrats because it was hurting them, the party’s response was basically 🤷‍♂️ “Sucks for you.”

Actually a lot of smoke and mirrors here. Trump had previously said, a couple of weeks ago that there would be 25% tariff in mid March and it would be on top of the February 25%, therefore 50%.So really nothing new and not a response to Ontario's move.

We could literally make Washington D.C. or Puerto Rico our 51st state, but DC runs blue and Trump despises the Puerto Ricans, so instead he looks to conquer an entire country, who is also our largest trading partner, to expand our union rather than the areas that have been begging for statehood.

LOL, Trump seems to think Canadians are unaware Trump has told the 50 actual U.S. states that they're on their own, from a funding perspective. That the federal government won't be there to support them. That FEMA, SSA, VA, IRS, DOJ, et al are being eviscerated. Who would want to be the 51st state?

Does any one remember the east coast black-out from 22 or so years ago? If Ontario cuts off transmission to NY/Mich that could cause a cascading effect which would cause a similar east coast/mid west blackout as that was caused by a balancing surge on lines between Ohio/Canada when...

...when one side went down. If Ontario shuts of power, without warning, you could see a similar surge, but with Ontario already disconnected from the gird, meaning it would only affect the US side. There are new safeguards on both side to prevent it, but they haven't been tested on wide scale.

At a minimum, even with the safeguards, you'd see massive roaming black/brown outs throughout NY, Michigan, and Minnesota, maybe Ohio as well. At worst you're seeing 45 Mil customers without power in the US until Ontario wants to turn it all back on.

Because what he’s doing to Canada is basically rape/abuse - he’s attacking them (with tariffs) and then telling them to either lay still and take it, or marry him so he will stop the violence but lay claim to everything they own (abuse and leave once there’s nothing left to take anymore)

Ca is a Ru rival for rare earth materials and oil, is a block in transportation of those raw materials from Russian into the US market. Same can be said for Greenland. Ukraine was basically invaded by Russia for partially the same reason. To sell and move raw materials into Europe.
