Because white people who speak a language that only 0.39% of people living in the US speak. 6% of people from Afghanistan speak English & it’s taught in schools there. So who would assimilate faster? HMMMMMMMMMM

When I first moved to NYC in 79 my roommate was dating an Afrikaner who was here with a dance troupe. He was SO racist I didn’t want him in our apartment. The ugliest things would come out of his mouth. I guess I should say EX roommate. We are both from Detroit originally. So yeah.

I’ve met a white woman who was from SA. She was aware of the racism she grew up with and was trying to get away from it. She said she had been brainwashed and so wished there was a way to cure it. I kinda felt sorry for her. She had assimilated reasonably well though.

The only takeaway from this man’s dribble, why Afrikaners are being given 💯 precedence over all other immigrants seeking asylum was “because they can easily be assimilated into America”! He could have saved a ton of wordage by simply saying because they are “white & will blend in with other whites”!

The Afghans lose their TPS refugee status while white Afrikaners are welcomed. The Afghans provided services to the US military in Afghanistan for which they were promised they could emigrate to the US for their protection. If they are deported back to Afghanistan they will be persecuted and... /1

Trump is not a conservative exhibit infinity: Our country is founded on principles, and many of the Afghans fought courageously for these principles on our side. Our country is not founded on blood and soil, but Trump is trying to turn us into such a country.

I'd like to help some folks out with definitions. Many believe the term "racist" is overused, so it is with this difficult issue I offer my assistance. If you describe white immigrants from South Africa as "refugees" and brown immigrants from Central America as "illegals," you are a racist.

They consider "themselves" white, but they stupidly don't realize the administration does not. Therefore, the shock when they get picked up and sent to El Salvador is real. South African whites, with their greed, racism and historical cruelty are a perfect fit for assimilation in the US.

if the goal is to change the demographics of America to more white, it is doomed to fail. even if 100% moved here (which they won't) it would change the demographics from 58.4% to 58.9% non-Hispanic white. I imagine it might be 2 to 3% of South African whites.

i really think it is performative assholery to troll liberals. myself I would call their bluff and say let them all in, let every white South African come here and when vast majority don't say "why is that? isn't America supposed to be the absolute best? is it because of Trump?"

i had a black woman co-worker from South Africa and she loved it. she wasn't remotely racist against white people, she was young so didn't grow up under apartheid. I imagine most real racists left soon after and it has been 31 years now.

Afrikaners don't speak English (or at least not all of them do) and if English is the main criteria there are tens of millions of fluent English speakers who are non-white in war torn regions.

Most people in South Africa speak English as a lingua franca, like in the rest of the world. But it is used in daily life, unlike some places where people in the trades can get away with forgetting what they were taught in school There are something like a dozen official languages in SA

I'm not making excuses for the Afrikaners being brought here. I'm pointing out that English proficiency isn't something special to white South Africans As somebody else pointed out, many of the Afghans being held back were interpreters

well sure, you aren't going to meet people whose language you can't speak unless you went and lived in South Africa. when I was young I heard the Europeans speak 5 languages, etc. but when I lived there I found that was simply not true.

the point is that that nimrod thinks they are all white native English ready made Americans. for many it is a second language. for some it can be a 3rd or 4th one depending on how many native languages they know. if they are coming to get away from black people, they are not ready to assimilate
