In any case it goes to the point - if your value is knowledge/experience then phys strength matters less, especially if you are not in a boots on the ground position.

I honestly don’t know enough about it to debate the idea of direct commissioning. But given the differences between then and now I’m not sure they need to be *in* the military for their knowledge to be leveraged?
