Mike Johnson talks about the Republican "healthcare plan" like it's highly classified information: "We're not gonna be on a conference call explaining all our plans and strategies for healthcare reform, because they're leaked in real time."

The Republicans healthcare plan is to keep healthcare the commodity it is because they are all heavily invested in healthcare. This Republicans party has been trying to get rid of an affordable healthcare plan for people because they WANT US TO PAY MORE-they make money from it.

The more we talk about it, the more people SHOULD listen. Healthcare won't like it. There will be layoffs. Oh well. It's been a massive profitable commodity for too long. The Republicans have had long enough to come up with something, anything and haven't BECAUSE THEY WANT IT TO BE THIS WAY.

Medicare gets deposits of 3.9% of payroll in this country. 1.45% out of your paycheck and the employer matches it b4 it's paid each week. We should have Medicare for all with 2% admin. That's it. Dems should run on it in 2026.

This is astonishingly true. I did payroll accounting with Paychex Inc for a bit, and it opened my eyes to how undocumented workers STILL PAY FICA (soc sec and medicaid) despite not being eligible. If only the FUCKING BILLIONAIRES would contribute to FICA like the immigrants do, we'd be set!

Everyone should push it. Most people don't know about the employer match, they may know about the social security split that happened yrs ago. 7.65% is deduction under FICA-6.2% SS and 1.455 Medicare. The employer is required to match it. WE have been paying for our retired healthcare for years.

YOU ARE NOT WRONG AT ALL! Universal HC is the answer! Yeah, we will pay more in taxes, but we also need TAX REFORM - FLAT TAX - The billionaires will pay their GD share & the little guys/gals will finally benefit!

Neither party has done a great job. ACA is a giveaway to insurance companies without permanent protections for consumers, as we're about to see (if the Dems give in). We should've had a public option in 2010. At this point, any Dem in 2026/8 not fighting for single payer shouldn't get our votes.

It started out as a decent option and the 1st attempt at regulating insurance co's and healthcare groups and it was implemented by a black man. He has guts. "THIS" Republican party has steadily destroyed it. 1st term, tried to repeal it 53 times. They suck and need to be voted out.

"Employer provided" just means if you lose your job, you lose your insurance. People will be able to renegotiate their salaries & make more money. They'd keep their doctors of course. Even rightwing "think tank" studies prove single payer is less expensive with better care.

In my country healthcare plans are also top secret and written in coded language They are guarded by the army 24/7 and whenever they are read they must be read in a faraday cage That’s just the kind of secrecy you need for healthcare plans

To get Universal healthcare we need it to start in a state, like Obamacare did in MA. Obama got the idea of mandating coverage from Romney. Some progressive states like CA, MN, MA, CO, need to experiment with universal healthcare. A winner will emerge, and spread. Each state is a lab.

Let's be clear here, if they had a plan they would be out there trying to sell it to the American people to generate support for it. They do not have a plan at all! Also, the concepts of a plan that they do have would be wildly unpopular with the American People so they don't want to mention them.

He flat out lies along with the entire republican party We’ve heard about a big beautiful plan for medical coverage and saw the notebooks Claims a plan would be shared in two weeks lies A plan by the republicans would line wealthy donors’ pockets and provide very little care for a high price

I just can't believe how full of sheet this guy is. Why not let The People hear what these dirt balls are proposing. The republican party has sabotaged any and every improvement to the ACA. That's why it's failing.

I’m sure we’ll see it “in two weeks.” (Narrator: The GOP’s “plan” for healthcare has always been to drop all public subsidies - including eventually, Medicare. They made that clear when the late Sen McCain gave their plan the thumb’s down.)

It would suck if the country learned that the Republican “classified health care” plan was an empty folder. Especially since they have been working on it for 15 years.

Is it getting rid of all government spending and leaving everything to the free market? 🤔 It's handing healthcare completely over to the economic oligopoly while socializing its losses, isn't it? 😒 How about #MEDICARE4ALL?

"We've kept all of our plans and strategies for healthcare reform a closely held secret for more than ten years now, and we're not going to disclose it and make it available to anyone, because they will just find a way to corrupt it."

Why would it be bad if the ppl got to know how their elected officials intend to reform Healthcare for the ppl? 🤔

Ok, but it's not a fuckin' invasion or anything. The healthcare plan doesn't need to be kept secret - they should be promoting it in order to get voters behind them. The only reason to keep it secret is because it doesn't exist.

Such a load of horse manure. The GOP & their senile leader do nothing but lie because they have nothing else. They don't put in the work and don't have the brains to put plans together that actually help the American people. THEY JUST DON'T GIVE A RAT'S ASS ABOUT THE PEOPLE.

There are no "secret" health care plans. Any serious plan will have been vetted and discussed somewhere - if not in economics journals, at least by the Heritage Foundation. If it hasn't been discussed and vetted, why would you think it would be a good idea?

The two weeks go on indefinitely because there’s never going to be a plan except the one to put all your tax money into the pocket of the already wealthy. Tax the billionaires for all the taxes they’ve dodged. Backtax them into millionaires.

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 we already know it! Let them die if they don't have money and they have Kennedy to help us along that path. Freaking assholes

There’s never been a plan. Since ~2016 #Trump has promised one. Since 2010 the #GOP has slammed the ACA. Dems are now (rightly) shutting down govt over premium hikes. AMAZING this wasn’t a successful wedge issue during the 2024 election. It’s life, death, and financial ruin.

That man's such a casual liar it makes me wonder about a whole lot of other things he's said, including that little arrangement between him and his son about porn.

Who has an arrangement like that with their children- I don’t care how old the child is! When he is voted out of office (I am affirming this outcome!) it will be a day of celebration- then should be followed by investigations into his actions.

February of 2016 Trump promised that if elected he would immediately repeal and replace Obamacare and that his plan would save money and result in better health care. Leaking the details in "real time" would be across nearly 10 years now.
