Folarin Balogun, who is a US citizen because he was born here, scores a go-ahead goal for the US team in a knockout game. Score one for birthright citizenship.

Thanks, I've been trying to explain his situation to my wife but couldn't recall all the details.👍 Is the ref calling this game like everyone on the US is KAT and everyone on BH is Wemby or is that just me? 😝 I'm watching on OTA Telemundo, can't understand a word.🤷‍♂️

He plays for a team of Americans, playing under one flag, hands ln their hearts during the national anthem. American show up draped in the red, white and blue. Belting out that national anthem. Score 1 for the people in this nation that are proud of it.

Parents were vacationing here while his mother was 7 months pregnant (I think? somewhere around there) and when they went to return to London the airline wouldn't let her on due to how advanced her pregnancy was.

Parents on holiday from London when mother 7 months pregnant. Airline wouldn't let her board plane back. Had baby (who just scored goal) then returned to London a month later.

I don't get the importance that society places on sports. These men playing games contributes nothing to the advancement of any society. It is literally the circuses that Roman emperors provided the masses to keep them quiet. How, more now than ever, is that not apparent?

Sorry for Balogan being expelled for an involuntary yet extremely dangerous foul. The Belgian Red Devils may not feel so sorry, though…

My grandson can play for England, USA, or Croatia. Of course he's only 18 months old so there's still the question if he can play at all.

14th Amendment in action: Folarin Balogun’s Nigerian parents, from London, visited New York. His mom was 7 months pregnant. On their return, airline staff refused Mom’s ticket, given her pregnancy was so advanced. Born in NYC, American Balogun keeps scoring goals for the USA in the World Cup. U S A

HE DID NOT DESERVE THE RED CARD FOR THAT PENALTY. It is the first time that all THREE North American teams have made it to the second round. Canada🇨🇦, USA🇺🇸, Mexico 🇲🇽 Wishing them luck in the round of EIGHT.

Bernie Moreno, Senator of the Rich Only, in Ohio, is big mad about birthright citizenship. Although a naturalized citizen he thinks he’s ever so special. Word on the street: they will turn against him too. What a bot.

Congratulations to the young man a reminder to this asshole administration, the value of our birth rate citizens, which by the way there are some in Trump administration

Take that trumpie miller & all magas losing their minds that scotus narrowly - NARROWLY - upheld Birthright Citizenship What kind of fucking scotus NARROWLY upholds the Constitution?!?

Approximately 36% of all Nobel Prizes won by Americans in chemistry, medicine, and physics since 1901 were awarded to immigrants. In the past two decades alone, this number has risen to 40%. Across all six Nobel Prize categories, immigrants account for about 35% of all U.S. academic laureates

Then he gets a red card and gets ejected from the game, 🤔 seems a little too convenient for this administration…

The US team is majority minorities - 42% black, and 1/3 of them are children of immigrants….. let’s remember who represents us when we chant USA in just about every major sport competition! The US would be nothing without us POCs!

Interesting fact: Citizen Birthright! Balogun was born to Nigerian parents and grew up in England. He was born in the US only because the airline refused to board his 7-month pregnant mother for her return flight to London after a visit here…

More than one member of Team USA is in a similar situation and aren't we glad that they can play for the US?! #TeamUSA #trumpsterfire

Folarin Balogun changed my view of the SCOTUS ruling. It was the right decision. You can’t throw the baby out with the bathwater. That said, do Mauricio Pochettino and foreigners here in the USA for the World Cup like the USA more than you do? And if so, why is that? bsky.app/profile/duns...

Let’s Go USA!! 🇺🇸✊

My dude. Please, you do such stellar work. Don’t undo it with footy commentary. “Go-ahead goal” That’s like me talking about base ball and referring to a home run as a “long ball hit”

Funny how DJT wants to destroy everything he has benefited from his whole life. He has a family members that left his country to avoid their military service, a father born in America giving him birthright citizenship, all but one of his children born to immigrants yet he hates others like himself.

Let’s also cheer for the birthright citizens who keep America running every day. In our hospitals, restaurants, hotels, transit systems, or any other field. These folks add to the tapestry that is America. Each one is every bit as vital to our country as those whose lines date back to the founders.

Without birthright citizenship & immigration, you wouldn't have a winning team in any sport. Can anyone name 1 team sport you have, that has players that are ALL born in the US without birthright citizenship, immigration or weren't traded from another country? No sport that has less than 5 players

But the red card wasn’t at all racist or faulty AI assisted VAR, right? 😂 Ref tried to redeem himself with a yellow card for the BIH Coach and a free kick but that red card will be an asterisk still.

Has anyone pointed out when in lineage it stops being birthright citizenship? Bet there's more than a few anti-birthright citizenship people who are the product of "anchor babies".

it's hard to believe that 4 supreme court justices don't believe the 14th amendment applies to everyone born in the USA...
