Air conditioning is their big talking point lately. I lived in Germany 3 years and England 3 years. They don't have a/c because they didnt need it. Climate change ushered in this extreme heat. They love their architecture and aesthetic and don't like the pollution and over energy use.

Funnily enough, part of managing Global Warming should be US AC to cool the outdoors. A heat pump is literally an AC with the cold side outdoors and is significantly better for the environment than natural gas or resistive heating options.

True. I don't like the dry air and outside units of air conditioning so we use old fashioned ways of cooling the house. Shadow, a very green garden, trees, curtains, ventilators, windows open from 20:00 to 08:00 hrs etc. But I understand that's not an option in the SE with their humidity.
