My daughter lost a tooth yesterday. My wife was traveling, so I handled tooth fairy duties. I left a $10 under her pillow, which I thought was v generous, but she woke up, saw the bill & said: "But why did the Tooth Fairy leave me $20 last time?" 😆 (I wasn't aware my wife had gone so over the top!)

I got a quarter…and for some reason the tooth fairy never took my teeth….so I kept them in a little box….I’ll turn 67 next month….and still have my baby teeth! I guess MAGAts aren’t the only weirdos! 😂😂🤦🏻‍♀️😂😂

At last, something we can't blame on emigrants, Ukraine, or #KingCorruption tRump. When I was a kid the tooth went in a glass with water and I might find 50-cents when I woke up. Life desperately needs the little funnies. 👍

Leaving doubloons now are we? Fairies hate paper money, it works like a sail. Totally ruins their flight characteristics. Doesn't help that the asshole making fairy dresses doesn't believe in pockets.

We convinced my son that you leave the tooth and a letter in a bag in the hall way. The letter idea is an albatross though. We have to keep track of the plot points across multiple letters to maintain continuity. And did, both he and his sister pay CLOSE attention!

Both. It's an ongoing conversation better each of the kids and the tooth fairies. There are multiple of course (it was a necessary plot point when one of them noted the impossible mechanics of a single fairy servicing all children everywher).

I’m a grandmother but had to be the “tooth mouse” (her Papa is French) recently and had to provide a “toonie” which is a $2 coin in Canada (about $1.50 USD). Perhaps tariff prices are having an impact at your house?

My kids are 18 and 14, we used to give them $2 bills and say that was exclusively tooth fairy money. I don’t think we ever went over $6 for a tooth though. Tooth inflation has gone crazy.

One time here, the tooth fairy fell asleep waiting for the child to fall asleep. Child was intentionally trying to see the fairy. Disappointed the next day said child went to sleep as normal…tooth fairy had to leave a giant Hershey bar and note with the money to make up for it. 🤭

lol. My dad lived to regret that too. Especially the year after Santa had given us kids cameras. My dad had a string of jingle bells, like the reindeer would have… flash bulbs went off at the first sound of bells…hahahaha

We got more if my Dad tricked us into pulling that wobbly tooth out. It went like this, "let me have a look", "No, you'll pull it", "I will not, I promise", and you know what happened next.

When my boys were little I used to go to a coin shop and get old coins to put under their pillows. Many of them were silver. Some were just cool like an Eisenhower silver dollar. They kept them all. I'm kinda glad I did that now. Silver was less valuable then.

When my daughter would lose a tooth (she's 25 now) I would leave a few bucks and a note from the tooth fairy. I'd write the note on a 2 inch square piece of paper in tiny print using an ultra fine rapidograph. I'd then sprinkle just a bit of sparkles and fold it up.

Old curmudgeon here... I would have responded, "Well, have you been cleaning up your room the way you should???" Of course, this may be why I'm a much better grandparent than a parent.

My wife and I used to tell our grandkids about the “rivalry” between the Tooth Fairy and Ratoncito Perez, and occasionally one of them would give out a $20 (instead of the usual $10) just to get on the other’s nerves…toothing can be a cutthroat business, I hear.

inflation hits hard. I was lucky to get loose change. Conversely what a great opportunity to discuss the pressures of supply and demand. It was simply a bumper crop this quarter, due to the higher supply of teeth flooding the market, it drove down the price that fairies were willing to exchange.

One time when my kids teeth seem to falling out constantly the tooth fairy ran straight outta cash and had to leave an IOU under the pillow. She did return the following nite and paid the going rate plus interest.
