Now it's been a minute... But it's my understanding this means he doesn't actually ski. Kind of like a teetotaler sitting with a beer nearby, that's gone flat and warm, but they insist it means they're a drinker.

Jeans absorb water *quickly* and if you fall/get into the snow even once you're rapidly left wearing stiff, clammy, heavy, and damp fabric in temperatures that're freezing or lower. Only someone completely new to skiing who's also refused the advice of everyone around them would ski in jeans.

Unfortunately I asked about this during the Vermont episode. It seems to have the emotional weight of saying someone cheats at golf or hires someone to run up their score on video games: you exist outside the community and not in a good way.

If you're prepping for your first ski trip, the odds are good that SEVERAL sources close to you have said "don't wear jeans" and explained why. So if you're skiing in jeans, it means you've willfully ignored all advice and it's no longer a question of if you'll wind up with hypothermia, but when.

Oh Greenland is a barren land A land that bares no green Where there's ice and snow, and the whalefishes blow And the daylight's seldom seen, brave boys And the daylight's seldom seen The Pogues

Who visits a foreign country dressed like that? Disgraceful. He looks worse than the guy leading an effort to repel a foreign invader. I'm pretty sure 100% of the delegation sent to "welcome" him (all of Greenland turned out to protest) were better dressed.

That parka should be standard issue for USMIL deployers to places like Pituffik, unless replaced by a more modern version, but it looks like the Temu version of the one I wore in the early 90s, which was a quality product and actually looked good.

Dude.. if it's cold enough to need that coat, you need a toque and gloves! Or... maybe it's just a fashion statement? Then you need a new fashion consultant. (no i didn't spell fascist wrong)

They flew 2650 miles one way to talk to, at most, 150 troops. Then they flew back. They spent twice the time on the plane than they did in Greenland. Was this just to spend the Friday before the weekend, somewhere that they wouldn't be questioned about Signal chats?

FWIW, it's rather hard to execute a good will with a country that already wanted nothing to do with you even before you violently threatened to seize it by force. Even harder when you're a furniture humping, puffy-faced, sentient frat paddle with the personality of a perpetually dumbfounded clone.

This picture is friggin maaade for photoshopping a protest-style sign that says "I'm an invasive species & no one likes me" or "I'm a useless shitbird" or "I have no idea what I'm doing" etc. *plants invisible flag* "I'm a conquerer!" Greenland: "You're a fucking twat." 🙄🤬

That coat was clearly purchased “for” him, not “by” him. It is as homely and ill-fitting as everything he owns. The reason he’s bitching about being so cold is it doesn’t fit worth a damn and it’s not properly insulated.
