i dunno man the framing of this story has all sorts of problems also this is all baby stuff compared to what the right wing and corporate power has been doing collaboratively for the better part of 25 straight years

yeah, I'm not invested in the NYT story itself, I'm saying the way that the admin is handling itself in comms is catnip for legacy reporters -- just rookie mistakes all around. Feels like I woke up to the admin punching itself in the face

Completely incorrect. Fascism and constant lies are catnip for the ignorant stooges at NYT, and the Mamdani admin should ignore them altogether. NYT is a nest of reptilian trashbags jockeying for “most special bootlicker” for the dictatorship they are so desperate to usher in

My one precious life is too short to read this, but it sounds like this headline should have been "Mamdani Administration Benefits From 69% Approval Rating With Positive Independent Media Attention" Or are you saying the mayor should ignore or try to manage this? ABC would like a word.

I'm just utterly disoriented by any democratic staffer that is smart on media reform the party hasn't had a coherent media reform strategy in 50 years, which culminated in the right wing and their corporate friends building the biggest and most effective propaganda machine in human history

See I didn’t even think about it this way but yes. I was mostly thinking about it from the perspective of he allows himself to be accesible, to the average person. He engages with the directly— regularly. I do however believe the NYT is attempting to argue anybody can be an influencer.

>> in which the New York Times suddenly discovers the use of social media to bypass traditional media It reminds me of the panic over the blogosphere, just about 20 years ago. Dare I resurrect it? TIME FOR A BLOGGER ETHICS PANEL.

Yes all true but I’m not sure I’m loving the world where it’s mostly cost less for any random person to get a mass audience by telling them what they want to hear

The NYT does a lot of good work, but I cannot and will not pay them a dime. I wish I could. But I made that commitment in October of 2016, and while any of the same people are running it I will not purchase a subscription.

Trump spews "information" all over, he has influencers and right wing alternative "news" sources in rooms they would never have dreamed of having access to in the past plus Maggie Haberman gets to write books, but it's not like Mamdani has sequestered information he's just releasing it to everyone.
