Just did a quick look around and I don't see very many headlines about the President of the US making people pledge allegiance to him personally while telling everyone to commit election fraud and "cheat like hell" to support his party. Seems like it should be a story?

Trump: "Please right your right hand. I pledge to the greatest president in the history of the United States. That loves us so much he can't even breath. That I will go out with my family, my friends, I'll do it any way - I don't care if I'm registered or not, I'm going to try to cheat like hell..."

It would be a story if A.G. Sulzberger wasn't such a putz and a too cool to care Bro. The NYT is a joke of access journalism. Even the WSJ does better news reporting than the NYT.

The media outlets that were systematically acquired by billionaires who naturally prefer a government that can be bought skew their reporting? I very much doubt it.

Didn’t he regularly do the “everyone raise your hand and repeat after me” schitck in has previous campaigns? I feel like we’re just numb to it at this point.

Yes, and while Trump is egging his supporters on to commit election fraud, his DOJ lawyers are in court pretending the US Postal Service scheme cobbled together in defiance of court orders is a legitimate attempt to boost election security

In the latest version, Katie Rogers (who has soft pedalled Trump for years) strikes a bemused tone), then after including the cheating line, adds that Trump usually frowns on election fraud. WTF? NYT also doesn't run comments online that criticize them--I tried. www.nytimes.com/2026/09/11/u...

nytimes.comTrump’s Grand Midterm Convention Finale: ‘I’m a Little Bit Tired of Politics’The president made clear as his midterm convention wrapped up that he wants to carry his party through a tough midterms. He just won’t go too far out of his way to do it.

I mean, would this be the @nytimes.com coverage if a Democratic politician had told people to pledge allegiance to them personally and said they had to commit election fraud to seem the Democrats win in the fall?

Or they'll go to hell!! Don't forget the hell part. The whole thing was insane but I still can't get over him telling them not voting will cause them to go to hell. I vote all the time, I'm still in the hell he designed for us.

The US Navy’s actions in the Caribbean have already put the lie to the whole “allegiance to the constitution/refuse illegal orders” myth, and that series of out and obvious murders has engendered not much more than yawns from your press, so… <shrug>?
