Sort of annoys me that the top of the s isn’t visible though… the logo would be less visually pleasing if it was so I can see why they did it but for the isometric view to be “correct” there would be a little blue triangle on the other side of the p’s stem

wrong! the negative space is actually a hook, which is a design choice left over from when the handle on the back was originally going to be a hook so people could hang their gamecubes in their closet when not in use. /joke

Gosh...I never noticed! I was too hypnotized by the animation as a kid and the sound.

We're incessantly bombarded with so much marketing crap in the form of ads and logos. It's nice to stop and pause to appreciate the truly genius ones (like these) that thought obviously went into, and that are 'multi-levelled/facetted', for lack of a better way to say it. Thanks for this. 👍🏻

The fact it's non-obvious until pointed out (at least to me) makes me think it's like, not that great. Very cool though, and you can see the influence it had on the Switch logo

What's crazy is my brain just cannot register the G. I *get* it's a g, I can see where the g is. But I look at it and see no G, just a cool cube thing.

Interestingly I actually never saw the bigger 3D cube before you call it out! I only ever saw the small one in the middle. Always did see the G and the C and thought it looked cool regardless.

Nintendo's console logos have generally been amazing. The N64 logo is a 3D object that has 64 sides and vertices.

Everyone talks about the arrow in the FedEx logo but no one thinks about the measuring spoon in the E!

'tis a good one. For the same reasons you describe, I really like the Sun Microsystems logo.

It beats the xbox logo, which was designed during that weird period where everybdy's logo needed to be a ball for some reason.
