Since he was able to use Find My Phone to locate it, that indicates that the phone was not wiped before resale - meaning his personal information and digital property were being sold off as well. Evil is bad. Incompetent evil is often worse.

You need an ID to sell a phone to one of those machines. They're (probably) not dumb enough to use their own ID's. No problem, they have a stack of ID's they've confiscated. So there is very probably identity theft going on as well.

There should be police reports made re theft by ICE thugs. I saw a video where thugs were just stuffing the belongings of their most recent kidnap victim (a US citizen) into their pants pockets. In another video, thugs distribute the paid-for groceries of an immigrant stopped in a parking lot.

The kiosk actually does require id, I used one of them before when I took one of my old phones to get money for it. There should be security footage that can be obtained.

The level of intentional cruelty is staggering. I can see arguing about immigration, legal or illegal. That is a conversation that can be had. But the violence and cruelty is unacceptable. Rule of law. Rules in general.
