the Signal fiasco is a good reminder that while these people are destructive, and cruel, and bigoted, and petty they are also really, really stupid

it honestly depends on the circumstance, sometimes the stupid makes them more destructive and not less but it is inarguable that Evil and Stupid is funnier

I find every opportunity to bring up that a very popular video game gets teased for its unsubtle “adults bad” theme because it includes a comically corrupt politician that is the mastermind behind a lot of atrocities but is elected to the highest office *after* his crimes are revealed to the public

I’ve been trying to say that, over and over again. The reason we don’t have to fear that they will really dismantle democracy is because they’re far too stupid to do that. They’re performatively acting out an imagined Fox News revenge segment and failing/floundering at that because they’re stupid.

Brings to mind an interview I saw yesterday where Peter Theil dogs on Kamala Harris' education because she went to Howard. Princeton must be SO proud of Hegseth 🤣 *cough

"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity" Well. These guys are both stupid and filled to the brim with Malice. Which makes them a special kind of dangerous

in this case he is a useful idiot, some say remove him, why? we can't expect accountability, also, he is making the case for trump's impeachment if he keeps him in. Maybe he will leak future atrocities against the public, perhaps him staying in office is better than him being replaced by worst.

It's not stupid. It is a deliberate strategy to be off the books. They're doing that way to avoid scrutiny and oversight. The mobile phones will get lost or the data "accidentally" deleted... same play-book as Boris Johnson government in UK.

the stupid part is inviting not just a stranger, and not just a reporter, but the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic and nobody noticing it, not just having Signal.

They can be really, really stupid because nothing is ever done to stop them. I am so sick and tired of this shit. Because nothing will come of it ,it will be just another old news story by tomorrow. No one has the balls to do anything about this corrupt administration.

I’m surprised that I am surprised at how stupid they are. Given Trump’s utter contempt for government and the American people, and how we knew when he nominated these people that they weren’t qualified, why did I - or any of us- think that they would be competent?

It's so frustrating! although I did hear one of my family members is shitting himself looking at his retirement account, which he monitors on a daily basis. They don't like him but they like his policies, what policies? The one where he destroys democracy or where he betrays our allies?

And we’re even more stupid. We’re letting them drag us to hell because we’re to afraid to even take a sick day to protest. Just go about the day like everything’s just grrreeaattt…

DO IT! ..normal, thinking Americans need help. We do not want the turd reich or its MAGA minions.I hate what is happening here, I don't feel safe in my own country. I stopped caring how we get rid of him, maybe if it starts hurting the economy enough of the morons will stop supporting the GOP.

They're also used to using an app where the contents of the conversation cannot be obtained by law enforcement of any kind, not even under congressional subpoena. Think about that for a second.

I cannot reconcile our National Security Adviser Michael Waltz responding to war plans with 3 emojis. I guess it was too difficult to use words? Or that FL voters could’ve chosen Nancy Soderberg— once again, Florida.

They'll try to play the victim on this. NEVER let them get away with it, make them own every double-down, forever. They're so used to get away with it, they'll walk straight into this, implicating themselves by defending the Signal Seventeen. Trump's just about the only one NOT implicated in this.
