Well, the majority allowed the minority to elect a racist authoritarian government and these are the consequences which will likely be felt for many years if not decades. If these people valued their rights they should have voted so shame shame on them

No, they feared the majority would be like "Why are we so obsessed with making sure these evil rich fucks still get to own people and control the government with no way to take way their power?" Every other evil thing in the constitution flows from this.

Because they WERE a tyranny of the minority. Wealthy white businessmen several of whom were slave owners who created the US to serve their colonial business interests including the genocide of Natives to steal their land. Only white men who owned land could vote.

This tyranny of the minority BS has been a conservative talking point since the Civil Rights era. People wanting equality is "tyranny." If the market rewarded people for being unbiased it already would have long ago.

They didn’t fear the tyranny of a small group of elites similar to the MONARCHY they were rebelling against? They set up government w 3 interdependent branches & give the President all the power. What they didn’t expect was a bunch of feckless politicians w no personal or institutional integrity.

The Fukuyama article is from 2016 but it still applies. America has done a good job of allowing freedom of speech, but we should not confuse a tiny minority of rich people complaning about taxes as a minority being discriminated against. By their own standards, taxes do not hurt them.

What else would you expect from a political system that gives backwards regressive, mostly empty rural regions greater political power than states where the majority not only of educated, progressive people live, but also where the majority of ALL of people live?
