The same should be said of RBG. She knew her health was failing and she should have stepped down while a Democratic president was in office. But her enormous ego wouldn’t allow for that. As a result, she delivered to the country a conservative SCOTUS that will dominate for decades. Shame on her.

There are plenty of young really awful people in Congress. Suddenly we are basing policy on this a few people dying in office? No we need strong ethics laws. For running and keeping office.

It's not about the body being old. It's about not having ability to do the job for whatever reason. 95% of incumbents won reelection in 2024. Elected officials can typically stay in office for as long as they want. They owe it to their constituents to step aside if they can no longer do their job.
