I avoid AI where possible. When I do a search, I add -AI at the end of my search text in an attempt to avoid AI results.

Our Ontario government and federal government in Canada play nonstop AI slop ads across all platforms all the time, the Ontario Conservative Doug Ford government has been doing it for years. It’s torture, every radio station, every tv station. They even get you on YouTube, google, cribbage.

I think quite a few of them aren't on 'our side' but instead are bots and trolls pretending to be. They're trying to sow confusion. It works.

I don't think people are against Data Centers as much are they are against having one in their backyard with no apparent regulation. Information Technology will necessarily need to be socialized just like health care, education and child daycare.

I think at least some of the time people don't know the origin of what they share. There is also a sentiment against data center expansion that is not blanket opposed to AI usage. Idk how common either is, but strongly suspect the first is very common.
