It's not that they're all attracted to kids, it's that it's ideologically important to them that children and women are the property of men.

we gotta bring back shame, man society doesn’t work real well without consequences for being an enormous piece of shit in public

Watching Katie Zacharia repeat the Trump Admin’s blatant lies without the usual shameless confidence we’re used to is jarring. Shows you how much of this administration’s unreality is being upheld by pure dishonest bravado. The lies fall even flatter without it.

OMG she is brutally bad at this

This is a significant worsening of our current state of constitutional collapse. I know it feels like there are so many, and there are, but in terms of crossing the Rubicon moments this one's up there.

I spent a year watching school administrators do their jobs—and interviewing the students most impacted. I spoke to @thecut.com in a long-form Q&A about what I saw. Mainly, a system designed to protect perpetrators and punish victims in each and every case.

It is so good to see @reportermatt.bsky.social, who was in like 80% of my classes in college, become the most influential reporter in Massachusetts. He just loves the place, and you can tell in everything he does. A truly wonderful man making the whole state better.

The Venn diagram of men who think that’s “hilarious” and also pearl clutch about protecting women’s sports is a perfect circle.

New: Macklemore says Robert Kraft — who owns Gillette Stadium, where Macklemore & Ed Sheeran were to perform later this month — called Sheeran. Kraft rallied other owners together behind an ultimatum for Sheeran: if Macklemore stays on the tour, you won't be allowed in our venues.

The entire right wing has been furious that the mayor of New York City had the nerve to be Muslim on 9/11, while their president is out here bragging about what a terrific relationship he has with the Saudi royal family.

One thing to keep in mind: all these corporations know how to keep food safe. They know how to comply with FDA safety standards (when FDA was a functioning agency). Without effective oversight, corporations will always save a few $ even at the risk to their customers.

Look, are we the laughing stock of the world? Yes. Are we losing a war we should’ve never started? Yes. Is all our food poison now? Yes. Are all the jobs going away? Yes. But the important thing is a blue-haired college student I made up in my head feels bad about memes.

Students are often portrayed as antagonists/perpetrators in AI cheating stories, and surely some of them are—I won't entirely dismiss their capacity to make choices. But students are also the main victims. The real villains are not living in dorms or going into debt to learn nothing.

Tressie McMillan Cottom@tressiemcphd.bsky.social

Almost every single student who has found me this week wants to talk about AI. A couple reflections. One student has taken three AI courses in philosophy, health sciences and comm. They’re basically the same class. As it turns out, it doesn’t take a lot of classes to “learn” ai.

It's crazy that Republicans are suddenly losing against the platform below after campaigning on: - death penalty for abortion - no vaccines - burn books - Bible-based math in school - a data center in your town - surveillance cameras - tariffs to raise grocery prices - wars to raise gas prices

Hey look it's the libertarian currency that's entirely dependent on government action to gain value

Bitcoin sitting on its biggest two-day gain since March 2, 2025, +11.1% since Tuesday. The 2025 move was on the US crypto reserve announcement, this time it's a Trump meeting with the industry and optimism around the Clarity Act which is awaiting Senate approval (haven't followed its prognosis tbh)

We should consider developing a standing body of government officials who are trained in diplomacy and can be sent around the world to negotiate the interests of the USA, so the president doesn't have to send his grifting son-in-law, who doesn't have any skills or training or government clearances.

Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law, held a rare meeting with Hamas leadership Sunday in Egypt, in a new diplomatic effort to make progress in the stalled Gaza ceasefire. n.pr/4zle6kh

What happened and "changed our children?" The reauthorization of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act in 1990s that and included autism as a covered disabilities. Schools had to report how many autistic students they served. Who was a cosponsor of that bill? RFK Jr.'s uncle Ted Kennedy.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

RFK Jr on autism: "'Oh, we're just noticing it more.' But this is an absurdity ... if we were just noticing it more, we would notice it in older groups. But we're not ... so something happened in the mid '90s that changed our children"

Important: Trump’s executive order is NOT legislation. Though the executive order promotes more misinformation about vaccines, nothing has changed about the availability of childhood vaccines. For evidence-based guidance, please follow and share American Academy of Pediatrics recommendations.

To make my point clear: Abusing more than a thousand girls and women is something Republicans want to cover up, while mask guidance from the fog of the worst or the worst pandemic of the century is a crime they will pursue to the grave.

One thing you have to keep in mind, instead of Anthony Fauci, Senate Republicans could be doing this to, say, Ghislaine Maxwell.

Pretty darn remarkable that the teachings of Jesus Christ, in your reading of course, turn out to perfectly overlap with your ethnonationalist political program. Why it’s God’s providential hand!

The overwhelming right wing sentiment is that COVID was an engineered bioweapon that was also harmless. Trump overreacted to it by shutting down the country, then engineered a drive to create a vaccine that was the real bioweapon that killed millions, and it's Joe Biden's fault.

The right's whole shtick was that Obama and Biden were puppets who just read what was put in front of them by their staff, but he's Trump just admitting it. No big deal.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

"That's what they give me to read, so what can I tell you? ... I don't know what the hell that means" -- Trump is surprised by the stuff he's straight up reading from the text that was prepared for him

to hear Trump tell it, American elections were completely corrupted while he was president and he was helpless to stop it, then they were cleaned up by Biden ahead of Trump's victory in 2024, and now that Trump is president again they are once again becoming third world caliber
