This is an absolute bargain on a compelling stoey that uses horror to explore economic power & the historical scars of northern England, while also doing a neat structural thing I'm not going to spoil. If you like horror, you should give it a try.

Attention folk horror fans! SCRATCH MOSS, my down and dirty coal mine horror, is currently just 99p on ebook on all platforms: Amazon: www.amazon.co.uk/Scratch-Moss... Kobo: www.kobo.com/gb/en/ebook/... Google Play: play.google.com/store/books/... Also Apple as well but can't seem to link to that.

Just finished @aptshadow.bsky.social 's Green City Wars, and I have to say that was a hell of a read. Somewhere between Raymond Chandler, Redwall and Philip K Dick but with a style all of its own and a sly sense of humour that almost made me throw my e-reader against a wall (Nimoy? Jeff? Really?!)

Has anyone considers that Odysseus's problem is that his men are just too delicious. Yes, he angered the gods, but so many of them getting eaten cant be a coincidence.

I'm busy behind the scenes and haven't been posting much, even though there are so many people in the world who haven't seen a cloth goblin, a cloth troll or any of the other creatures I make! King Charles told me the public keeps eating his prime ministers so l asked how many prime ministers he has and he said he just goes to the parliament and gets a new prime minister afterwards so I said it sounds like he's just feeding prime ministers to the public and then his son started crying.

King Charles III is about to welcome the fourth Prime Minister of his reign, which is not yet four years old.

long shot but if anyone spots or has found a box of chocs/cakes on the overground which has probably just arrived at Clapham Junction from Dalston I’d be very grateful of a shout

Gah alt text: a sign advertising fathers’ day deals outside a restaurant saying “more than just a dad / more than just a dessert”. We are ignoring the misplaced apostrophe. For now.

Independent creative businesses are quietly having a tough time right now. So if there’s a maker, illustrator or designer whose work you love, this is a good time to tell people about them. Buy something if you can. Share their work if you can’t. This is me www.gailmyerscough.co.uk
