Well that’s that then. The US is now openly partnering with Russia. How long before US bombs are used against Ukraine?

Steve Witkoff to Putin: You talk so much about my president, President Trump, being a humanitarian. You are a humanitarian also, sir, and I salute that, I commend you, and I thank you again.

Donald Trump, his entire family, his staff in the White House and his administration, the GOP... they are all Russian traitors. Trump has stabbed the entire world in the back—he is worse than Judas. The death penalty is a just punishment for all of them.

A Reform councillor has been recorded calling for King Charles to be decapitated because he “is a Muslim”, while another one said of Asian people: “drag out of their homes, stick them on planes and **** them off to Pakistan.” It’s part of an undercover investigation by ITV Exposure

I think a shocking number of our major societal problems would vanish overnight if you could magically pull the plug on the X platform and Meta, both of which are carefully designed to turn people into the worst version of themselves.

the best thing about being in my 40s by far has been the freedom to refer to anonymous guys in their late teens/early 20s as “kid” like Han Solo calls Luke in Star Wars. been waiting my whole life for this. worth every second. indescribable feeling of power.

This is the truth of who Reform supporters are. Just pure, unadulterated hatred of the other, whoever the other may be.

Talking about public control is just tinkering and on Thames Water he’s even tinkering with the tinkering by backtracking. If he wants hope: tax the wealthy, take water back under public ownership, bring in rent controls & no to new North Sea drilling. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

It's only reasonably that @andyburnham.bsky.social should publically address this question. The fact that whether Musk is the enemy of democracy is no longer a question, by using HIS platform the UK government is complicit in his activities.

Airbus is putting its data beyond America's reach. They will run on Scaleway, a French provider, instead. A US law lets American authorities request data held by US firms, including data stored in servers outside the country. Europe is slowly trying to lean less on American technology.

100%. It should be number one on Burnham’s to-do list, otherwise everything else he does will be pointless.

In the past, we always regulated broadcasters because they shape democracy. Now, digital platforms shape democracy far more than broadcasters ever did, so why do they have fewer obligations? It's one of the biggest regulatory failures of the last 30 years— a new PM could & should reverse it.🧵

1/ @pauliewaulie.bsky.social has a new piece out on fixing the public sphere — the fourth plank of his four-point plan for an incoming Burnham premiership. Short version: we regulate broadcasters because they shape democracy. Platforms shape it more. Why do they owe less? 🧵

10 years on from Brexit, there are still no rules to stop lies in election ads. We’ve tabled amendments to prevent ads like the Brexit bus misleading voters again. Email your MP and ask them to sponsor them. 16 MPs have so far. It takes 30 seconds 👇 reformpoliticaladvertising.org/take-action/...

Sections of the media are just absolute bullshit. They've always been a problem - but now they're literally lying and making up things that have never been said. The only way to defeat the billionaire media is to organise around them. Join us: join.greenparty.org.uk

Is the US now the most corrupt country in the history of humankind? Given the numbers involved, I'd say they're out there in a league of their own. Astonishing.

Starmer should have put in place genuine press regulation on day 1, and yet nearly 2 years later he has done nothing. It is a catastrophic, cowardly failure, one that ignores lessons of history and the present-day (Fox News anyone?), which means Farage in power, and a UK version of Trump's US.

What’s up with the presidential library system in the US? Seems like such a waste of money, can’t think of anywhere else that would publicly fund vast monuments to politicians. The Liz Truss library anyone?

I fucking LOVE that Donald Trump is going to be the catalyst for a clean energy revolution.

France 🇫🇷 doubles electrification support to €10bn/year through 2030 — EVs, heat pumps, industry. The reason? The Strait of Hormuz crisis making fossil fuel dependence impossible to ignore. Geopolitical shocks don’t just raise prices. They change what’s politically possible.
