Young ‘uns: this stuff happened once a week during Obama’s presidency. Dijon mustard. Moving a bust of Churchill. Inviting a rapper to the White House. Putting his feet up on his desk. They’d scream and cry for days about how effete and snobby and Black he was and how misinderstood they were.

incredible strategic error by Pat McAfee to reveal he is deeply bothered by relatively mild mockery from college students despite a key component of his job being "standing on a stage in front of college students for 3 hours a week"

The Ramaswamy ad has pushed the largest newspaper in Ohio, the Cleveland Plain Dealer, to reverse its position on endorsements. "A candidate who uses childhood sexual abuse as a weapon against the person who endured it has crossed a line that Ohioans should defend, whatever their party."

American conservatives are constantly bemoaning the decline of aesthetic standards and calling for a return to tailored suits and classical Roman architecture, but are now forced to defend the Cheesecake Factory. A constant tension between the Brooks Brothers patrician and the Kid Rock populist.

Total respect for NBC's Monica Alba, who asked Trump exactly the question he needs to answer. By refusing to answer, and attacking her, he has effectively told the world that no, sexual abuse allegations do no mean a thing to him. Imagine if she wasn't there. We'd be the poorer for it.

Aaron Rupar@atrupar.com

😳 WOMAN REPORTER: Do sexual abuse allegations mean nothing to you, sir? TRUMP: Wait. Wait! Wait wait wait. Slow down. Who are you with? REPORTER: NBC, sir. But they are very serious sex abuse allegations TRUMP: Quiet! Isn't she a fresh person? You're a horrible little reporter, aren't you?

Long story short Elon wasn't wrong when he said Don was in the Epstein Files

Q: Do you think it's right for the richest man in the world to have so much power over what goes on in a war because Russia and Ukraine? TRUMP: Well, I don't think he does. First of all, he's a very good person. He's not gonna do anything wrong. Elon will never do anything wrong.

Kansas’ 4th studio album – Leftoverture – was released today in 1976. The lead single – “Carry on Wayward Son” (#11 pop U.S. – with Steve Walsh’s stunning vocal performance) – is the lp’s signature tune, but there are several prog rock gems here, including: “Miracles Out of Nowhere” & “Magnum Opus”

Billionaires throw a fit at the idea of an annual wealth tax... but literally everyone else already pays one via property taxes (either directly as a homeowner or secondarily as a renter). The only reason securities aren't taxed the same is because that's where the rich keep most of their wealth.

Matt Novak@paleofuture.bsky.social

“The borrowing let Ellison keep his stock and avoid locking in taxable gains, and highlighted how billionaires often employ a strategy called ‘buy, borrow and die’ to retain their wealth without selling assets.”

Dear Colin, You make a living sitting on your lily-white ass talking about sports and you beat your chest way more than Caminero did giving his team a chance to play Inthe World Series. Kindly shut up.

“Hubris is the Ancient Greek word for a hero who was really huge.” - Marco Rubio, probably

James@gravitysra1nbow.bsky.social

I'm looking at this speech now, and that is absolutely not the fucking hero of Greek myth. The hero of Greek myth is almost always a dramatically tragic figure who is undone by their own character flaws. In fact, that's basically every single Greek hero. What the fuck are you talking about man.
