The fact that Western embassies and international missions are openly refusing to give in to the Kremlin’s threats and publicly declaring that they’re staying in Kyiv is a great slap in Putin’s face and a very eloquent middle finger to him. Excellent and thank you.

There can only be one option on the table. Full EU membership. 💷 £92bn for our economy. 📈 £43bn extra exports each and every year. ⬆️ Growth in every postcode, region, and nation of the UK. 🇬🇧 628/632 constituencies in favour. 🗳️ Stops Farage getting to No10. It really is a no brainer.

This. It has always been this. A sitting American president did this. And because he did this, he should have been convicted and put behind bars. And the fact that we never held him accountable for these crimes will forever stain this country. And we may never recover from it.👇

Any politician calling to leave the ECHR is lying about what that will achieve. It won’t solve any problem or improve our lives It will make us worse off and remove our rights. Just like Brexit. Metrics often obscure more than they reveal, especially when partially completed internal surveys and marginal differences between sub-metrics are treated as problems requiring in-year action plans. The issue isn’t avoiding metrics so much as recognising the limits of quality metrics used in HE.

'Avoiding metrics does not protect academic values, it obscures learning.' Meanwhile, avoiding research (as this piece does) does not protect academic values, it obscures what universities do and are for.

Britain sometimes pays wind farms to switch off because the grid can't use all the electricity they generate. But what if we could save that energy for winter? Here's how the answer may lie beneath the North Sea.

Burnham, again, says no election, telling ITV News "I am not going to call an election, I said outside Downing Street that I would do politics differently, that I would try to bring people together and focus on problem solving rather than point scoring. I am ruling it out right in front of you."

The sociologist Jeffrey Alexander wrote about performative populism - and how performance and authority exist in a loop. Once the performance slips and is no longer convincing, the authority rapidly collapses. The bubble bursts. That, despite the media’s best efforts, is happening to Farage now.
