I built an implementation of the TC39 structs proposal that you can use today: `struct` and `shared struct`, Atomics.Mutex and Atomics.Condition, and objects that really are shared between workers. A compiler and a runtime, on npm as @arv/structs. structs.arv.tools

Just a reminder that there is no good data to support these uses in K12, we are just testing it live all on kids who won’t ever be these ages again and can’t get them back if we fuck it up.
"AI can draft an essay for you, especially if you give it a high quality prompt." Really? This is what MIT thinks high schoolers should learn? MIT's "Day of AI" dayofai.org provides materials for K-12 teachers and claims to have reached over 5,000,000 students to date. 1/2

so I'm being told that a hypothesis that some problems inherently demand an exponentially growing amount of computational work has been found to be an untenable assumption rooted in assertions and expectations about the fundamental limits of practical computation? huh. interesting.
The Exponential Time Hypothesis (ETH) is false. Holy shit. x.com/danintheory/...

a better question is why does the government need to regulate who is allowed to use what filters? insanity
States may disagree on what does and does not constitute what the Meta settlement agreement describes as a "cosmetic procedure filter," EFF’s @davidgreene.bsky.social told @npr.org. "What if one state finds ... eyebrow lifting to be completely acceptable and another one thinks it's awful?"

if voting didn't matter they wouldn't be working so hard to stop you
The long-serving strongman leader of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic, has conceded defeat in an election that pitted him and his right-wing party against a diverse student-led opposition movement that spent two years protesting his government.

I prefer to focus on providing good incentive structures
I'm repeating myself, but people should just vote for the best outcome, even if it's the "least bad" of all bad options. Save abstaining from choosing for options where you'll get neither. In an election, there is no getting neither. There's just letting others choose for you.

Way back, prior to working at Bluesky, I worked on Secure Scuttlebutt which allowed for thousands of characters. It was once described as "full contact blog hockey" and it is why I am confident that character limits are a good thing.
What I picture when people ask Bluesky to increase its character count

turns out that voting is a very good way to kick right wing authoritarians out of power

i wanna hammer on this too: most of everything you touch exists because industrialization made it cheap; your couch is factory-slop, as any carpenter will gladly tell you. your phone as well if you call me stupid, you'll use industrial slop to do so, even aside from 'bsky uses llms'
"write it yourself" i don't want it that bad! it's worth having specifically because the idea came to me at a moment when i can pay a gpu-haver to summon it via text elemental. it's not "worth it" in-itself like most software you use, which was largely made for money, not intrinsic value
