An attempted attack on a Hindu temple came amid a weeks-long right-wing frenzy over "The Indian Question"; police found a manifesto from the alleged shooter "containing statements expressing white supremacist and extremist ideologies."

As bad as you think right-wing media has been about this case, it's much worse.

This is sexual violence as a form of terrorism. It is political violence and it is chilling and horrific, and AOC was absolutely right to be terrified that the goons (now pardoned) laying siege to the capital would rape her if they found her. Small changes won't fix this. FLIP THE TABLE NOW

"Doctors, lawyers and engineers" is an international online Nazi trope. The "joke" is that non-White people are too stupid to be anything other than a criminal or someone who leeches social services. Read a Spanish newspaper about Ceuta, e.g., and you'll see "médicos y ingenieros" in the comments.

Tom Joscelyn@tomjoscelyn.bsky.social

This is yet another telling example of the Trump regime’s racism. There’s no pretense here of targeting criminals - the usual excuse for mass deportations. DHS is specifically encouraging Haitian “doctors, lawyers, scholars and engineers” to leave. Any decent society would value these people.

There's a good chance Trump will invoke a variation of the false Venezuelan election fraud conspiracy theory in his speech on Thursday. Read here about some of the conspiracy theorists who have played a major role spreading it, like Patrick Byrne and Martin Rodil.

I was curious about what the report says, so here's the relevant section. Beyond the sloppiness (there's a sentence repeated twice by mistake), note how the report doesn't make any real effort to DENY the racial origins of the Act, but instead just takes umbrage at people pointing out the history.

caring about victims of sexual assault is a feminine-coded concern, and there are some left wing men who seem like they'd prefer being called a misogynist by a woman on the left than a betacuck soy boy by a man on the right

The screenshots Madeline compiled in here are bleak as hell and deserving of attention, as she says -> "Taking away a woman’s right to vote would require a constitutional amendment. And as far-fetched as this seems, the fever swamps of social media are exactly where these types of ideas start."

This is correct. There is no future of democratic self government in the US with an unreformed Supreme Court. The Court is riddled with corruption and abuses of power and rooting out that corruption is a sine qua non of civic democracy in the United States.

Again - the Roberts #SCOTUS is the Hormuz problem for Democrats or anyone concerned about democracy in U.S. It doesn’t matter what agenda Dems have, they’d be negligent if they don’t plan to act on an all out push to reform, rebalance (expand) to rein in the MAGA Court when they get back in power.
