shitposts aside, this one is serious, my loves: if you’re just waking up and you have any service online running PHP 5.4 to latest, you need to take it down RIGHT NOW and don’t put it back online until after it’s patched absolutely catastrophic vulnerability dropped in the middle of the night

Maaaaaan its hard to work on a fun project you really, *REALLY* want to tell people about but you have to wait until its ready for release 😅 (If you think you know what project this is you're probably wrong)

Anyone have recommendations for 2.5" or 3" die-cut stickers? I need to restock (~300), but prices seem to be very high locally now.

this article is really good with a lot of well researched interviews and perspectives and context as to what was going on in the studio. but sometimes. sometimes there's really only one sentence that speaks louder than all the others

Back in May, Double Fine employees petitioned for a union. Two weeks later, that petition was withdrawn. What happened? https://kotaku.com/inside-the-failed-fight-to-unionize-one-of-gamings-most-idealized-studios-2000742755

I'm up to my usual nonsense but it's got me thinking. Was the original Xbox's ability to use SCART cables on NTSC region consoles a stock feature? Like, could you just do that? It *does* support it internally, but was this a thing people did?

I don't even use BD-JB or Vue After Free but if you do and also want to record gameplay with a capture card without having to dig around in the settings menu after exploiting, or buy a hdmi splitter with a serif font on it. Here you go payload for you github.com/InvoxiPlayGa...

Who the hell is doing this scraping? I've now set up fail2ban on specific forum URLs that users wouldn't be likely to visit but bots apparently love. It's now blocked over 700 IP addresses in 20 minutes???

Somebody asked me on Reddit why people who use AI to generate Recomp projects are currently being rejected from the communities and what they can do to fix this. I might tweak parts of this to be a more general blog post at some point, but this should be of help to anyone in a similar situation.

Happy 25th birthday, Game Boy Advance! To celebrate, I am happy to announce the Game Boy Enhance is FINALLY here! The Game Boy Enhance (AGBM) is a circuit-level recreation of the Game Boy Advance. It uses almost all-new components, but still uses the original CPU - it's not emulation!

Unless it's about a physical process video guides are a waste of time! On top of not being searchable, indexable, or even updatable...

I am once again begging, praying, weeping for lists of written instructions rather than videos. I do not want to watch your two minute video in the hope of catching the two seconds where you whizz past what goddamn menu the thing is under. Write. It. Down.

Repaired and installed a necessary kitchen appliance today. (Full tube swap) Have a pi hooked up that shuffles a playlist of curated cartoon shows.

Team XLink's software dev infrastructure has gotten ridiculous over the years with 20+ build machines and dozens of CI pipelines. We're cleaning up before our next XLink Kai release but oh man its a mess 😱

If you're still using Twitter/X in any capacity get the fuck off now. Cut ties entirely. Any following you have is not worth it. For any reason.

Every piece of reporting I've seen on this is drastically understating the scale. These are from Grok's replies within a single minute. Time-to-reply is degrading because it has such a backlog of NCII/CSAM requests to fulfill. Conservatively I estimate it is producing more than 5000 of these per day

Happy New Year! To go with the recent Hardware update, I have an update from the OpenXHD firmware dev team for you. Thank you Clegg and everyone else on the dev team for your hard work! I also spent the last week reorganizing some hardware for an easier to hand assemble layout for the new board.

Merry Christmas Xbox fans! It has been two very challenging years, but work continues on the OpenXHD project. Hardware is complete, pending updates from the FW dev team. Speaking of which, there is a FW dev team! Things are moving along quicky now and I will have more news for you soon!

I say this with zero irony: if you are even tangentially a part of a retro video game community, it is your civic duty to push back against this company and shun anyone who doesn't. This is fascism tapping gently at the door and as soon as you let it in, it's going to invite its friends.
