i am inviting anyone from a legacy media organization to explain to me why the house judiciary dems report on trump’s epstein’s ties and multiple allegations of rape isn’t worthy of extensively reporting on. i’m serious. i want to understand.

its insane how not many people are talking about how republicans with the help of several moderate democrats are building out the largest abusive medical conversion therapy operation in modern american history

Good win. We're going to have to run the table with these lawsuits, which will come fast and thick as we approach the election and for weeks after.

There's nuance here about "how do we use platforms owned by the fascists". You *have to understand the political purpose of the platforms* in order to use them to subvert authoritarians. For the most part, Americans simply do not. Centrists (including DNC consultants) do not. Major media does not.

Kim Sherrell@web.kim

Key lessons from Brazil Amplify our people. Ignore the opposition. Use the tools owned by fascists to defeat the fascists? Meet the people where they are. May need to reconsider my staunch position of boycotting Meta for the reason. Thoughts?

Hannah Barnes once published a paper in the British Medical Journal with some fake scandal about trans kids and then the next day published an "exclusive" in the BBC saying that the "BMJ found a big scandal". Her source was her own report but she never disclosed that she also wrote the BMJ paper.

ive talked on how i wont engage with writers who use ai, i wont eat at a restaurant with an ai menu, i wont have anything to do with it. but what this post illustrates is regardless of how OTHERS react, ultimately the worst part about using ai is that you are punishing YOURSELF and dont even know it

Also: this behavior should be seen as political weakness. Democrats constantly allow the GOP to set the tone on issues, and it just makes them look fucking pathetic. This isn't a movement voters are demanding, it's one the GOP have been attempting to manufacture.

the handful of die-hard anti-trans voters that exist are going to vote GOP no matter what. so this ad will not pick up a single new voter. all it does is further disenfranchise trans ppl – a marginalized group MAGA hates. this is a pro-MAGA ad & Turek is furthering MAGA's cause by airing it

Leaving this beautiful, moving photo by Antonello Veneri here as a brief balm. Taken this morning in Salvador, one of the cities most affected by voter suppression, and showing the pure elation of Lula voters coming out of the polling station after exercising their democratic right.

The top two frames of the slop comic are pretty much the first part of how Marx explains technological innovation to work under capitalism. But it's missing the stage where once everyone is using the same technology, you end up back at 1-year development and only breaking even again.

The "row" and "scandal" here is that a patient recognised her and declined care, as she has a right to do, and this patient then scared herself silly fantasising about being bullied into letting Dr Upton treat her. A thing that did not actually happen.

Another one here where the British press just smashed fuck out of a member of the public’s life for no good reason, just because they wanted to and nobody will stop them doing at. And they’re still going, even now.

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

there’s no such thing as “strategic bigotry.” I know this because there is no amount of money you could pay me to become a bigot. the democrats who do this agree to do it because they’re bigots

Josh, you mean to tell me, in the US, in Oct 2026…you couldn’t find ANY BETTER MESSAGE to spend your precious political dollars on…than to punch down on ~7 people, who have done *nothing* to harm you…while there are masked, armed militia out here *kidnapping people off the streets*?? REALLY?

This would be the most any person has donated in any election cycle. And #2 is also Musk, in 2024.

I donated to a candidate’s official campaign once in 2020 and now get incessant spam SMS. I have automations running on my phone that automatically reply “STOP” and all that does is make them text me from another number. It’s not worth it.

Adam Bonica@adambonica.bsky.social

Once mass spam texts were made legal, younger donors vanished, leaving a grassroots fundraising machine that subsists on squeezing vulnerable seniors, some of whom give hundreds of times a day. It’s a horrific model. Consultants get generationally wealthy, and the party hollows out its future.

We found that as of right now 73% of your campaign donation goes back to the consultants and vendors (!!!), four times more than just 20 years ago. Only 13% to ads. Even I was shocked.
