NEW: Vivek Ramaswamy says Amy Acton being a victim of childhood sexual abuse makes her “flawed” while defending his ad featuring her estranged mother. “In politics sometimes it's a tough sport.”

I am hoping that for once, racism comes in handy and most constituents will simply not vote for a brown man with a weird name This is Ohio and I just don’t see them accepting him at all

But how does he compare to Ken Paxton or the president. It's all below the barrel, but somehow the democrats are kneck and kneck at best In a lot of these races

MAGA politicians not understanding that actual brainbroke sexual assault victims with an enormous chip on their shoulder are currently part of their very tenuous coalition and telling them to get fucked the way Dems did to Palestine activists two years ago.

Genuinely evil... and not new. Vivek is a Billionaire, because he buys failed Drug Testted medicines, from reputable companies... Then rebrands and sells them to the sick, anyway.

Not "sport" Vivek! Just the hammer coming down hard on your ramaSMARMY campaign. Acton will stomp you in the election! Hope her poll numbers and contributions make yours look like the chump (change) you are! In the mold of trump/jd

MAGA's unrelenting hypocrisy has led them to the inevitable: people they don't like have to follow an additional set of special rules. They were never trying to defeat an elite swamp, they just always wanted to become the biggest elite swamp in history. It's a bully's paradise.

Yeah I don’t think Ohio is going to go for Vivek. If nothing else I think many people who might have voted for him will now be a non-vote, which will probably cost him the race.

I guess it would be less of a shock now that the mergers gone through, but I still have the over/under on him popping up as a CNN contributor at 3 months

i mean in the olden days before cops had surplus military equipment and cameras on every street corner you'd engage in a bit of violent uprising. but noooo, can't have shit in the 21st century

I dunno... it's really a situation where Republicans' racism may overcome their dedication to party over country. Like in Florida's governor's race w/Byron Donalds. Weird to find oneself rooting for racism in order to protect people who would kill you from an evil politician who wants to kill them.

I once called to see if Edwin Edwards (who won that race against nazi David Duke) could meet w/my boss at a DNC conference, and his nice old lady assistant said in a slow Southern drawl "Oh, I'm so sorry, sweetheart, the Governor's going to have to decline because he's going to be in prison."

I live in a wealthy-ish, semi-rural area of Northeast Ohio. This means we definitely have a mix of fairly liberal folk (our coffee shops all proudly wave Pride flags outside and we have local events) and many independent farmers. I have seen only a *single* Vivek yard sign even amongst the farmers.

This does not people people here won't be voting for Vivek, but I'm wondering if his behavior may be turning off traditional R voters who maintain friendships with Liberal ones. I know firsthand one Conservative neighbor doesn't feel comfortable about him after hearing from my Evelyn Normielib mom.

Interesting! To be fair, NE OH traditionally skews closer to the New York Tri-State Area compared to the rest of Ohio which is more akin to the South.

When I think about people who have genuinely lost touch with their basic humanity and lost all respect and perspective for other people's innate value and personhood, I picture Vivek (among others).

I still think it's wrong to do so, but more and more lately I'm able to understand the impulse of revolutionary movements to say "fuck it" and put anyone who seems vaguely reactionary up against the wall. These people fucking suck and idk how we can get around that fact.

I’ll never stop thinking about that town hall/event he did where he said “all the right things” to this little white college boy’s question and the next words out of that kid’s mouth were, “Well, I’ll still never vote for you because you’re a Muslim.” This may have been from the primaries, but still

The only hope is they lose enough elections to lose interest and go back to NASCAR or WWE or whatever they used to be into.

The ad was meant to attack victims and this crystallizes it. Because this is how conservatives think of victims. Used goods. If we had a smart Democratic Party they would pair this with the Republicans putting a literal pedo rapist as their leader.

Alot of republicans seem to be big on parents rights to do whatever they want to there kid, 60 year old parents upset there 30 year old won't call is a problem they run on. Kids shouldn't be allowed cut them out. It's the kids fault not the parents is the message

Yes because conservatism is about hierarchy and granting the will for children to cut off their parents for whatever reason, even legitimate, is an affront to that idea of hierarchy. The ad is about that as well. Though of course this has its limits for them. Eg: Supportive parents of trans kids.

idk if it's "comfort" so much as it is like , there are a ton of people who live here do not have the Right to vote even if they're terrible so there is a massive chunk of ppl who are disqualified from representation but voters are the only Real People ever considered for some reason

I thought after JD Vance became VP that I couldn’t be more ashamed of my home state but the Acton/Ramaswamy race has been just absolutely fucking vile. I can’t say how I feel on this platform or I’ll get banned from orbit

While the political landscape has shifted more conservative since, it's only been 15 years since we've had a Democratic governor (we're not South Dakota, after all), and we elected Obama twice. Not to mention, Brown has won 3 of the 4 Senate contests he's ran in since 2006.

Also, keep in mind, A LOT of young people, who have never before had the opportunity to vote, have come of age during this shit and are disgusted with the horrors they've seen blossom from conservative politics.

Polls are pointing to him losing. I know that polls can be wrong, but assuming that he's going to win when there's no clear indication that he will is just worthless doomering at this point.
