Joined @stephruhle.bsky.social on MSNOW to talk about the AI bubble, its differences to the Dot-Com Bubble, and how if AI "doesn't work out" it's everyone's problem, with retail investors making up 20% of the market's volume and having over $4.65tn in direct exposure to AI stocks.

A second Labour MP has been suspended from the party over concerns he tried to wind up his company without repaying a taxpayer-funded loan. Perran Moon is the third MP to be suspended over questions about their use of pandemic bounce back loans. www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...

OH and the two sons are away this weekend and I’ve got a long list of DIY jobs to do. But I plan to watch a movie on Saturday night. Any suggestions? I was thinking sci-fi or horror but I’m at a loss. Was gonna go for Alex Garland’s Civil War but the reviews were mixed

I’ve got it down to mad max Furiosa for the spectacle and Heretic (Hugh Grant) for the spookiness. Outside chance of The Substance. Are any of these complete turkeys?

IT IS OCTOBER

The rumours around the supposed disappearance of Russian bots this week - linked to the Yandex outage - highlights how suspicious we all are of everything online. We see conspiracies everywhere when there aren't any. My latest for @the-independent.com www.independent.co.uk/voices/russi...

It’s simply not possible to do this and do what their voters want - people will still arrive and if you aren’t processing applications (see the IMA) you still need to house people before you deport them so it would mean hotels or large scale sites www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

Two most important facts: 1) since Trump became President, attacks on Ukraine have grown substantially in volume and scale. 2) Since Trump became President the US has committed zero (yes, zero) new dollars to support Ukraine.

In July, I asked Gartner’s John Lovelock how the price crunch would hit the AI infrastructure building program. It’s "the big open question," he said. "But it's not being investigated well or answered incredibly well." www.theregister.com/ai-and-ml/20...
