Unexpected?
The energy is FREE! Once the solar, battery & EVs are built, zero mining, offshore oil drilling, refineries, pipelines, oil tankers or trucks are needed for endless energy.
100% RE & EVs means no need to bomb people to steal their sun, nor for #Auspol to grovel to the 🤑🤡🇺🇸 Oil Empire.
Our great ally, our partner of shared values and shared military, is now on Russia’s side against Ukraine.
Buying its diesel, dropping sanctions, rooting for Putin.
“Zelenskyy could’ve stopped this war many times, and he chose not to … he better damn well stop” — Trump is no longer trying to conceal that he’s fully on Putin’s side

This year has been brutal, and like most people you probably want to do more about climate change. But what, and how?
Great news – I’ve written just the book for you!
It’s called What One Person Can Do and it’s a clear and simple how-to guide, a roadmap to help you make influential changes...
This week on Origin Story: The life & ideas of John Rawls, the most celebrated liberal philosopher of the post-war period. These are some of the most beautiful arguments in progressive thought. We do it as a one hour crash course. Everything you need to know. podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/j...
One of the hardest things about being progressive is knowing the limit to inequality. For communists, it's easy. There'll be no inequality. For neoliberals, it's also easy. There's no limit to inequality. But most people live somewhere between these positions, never sure where to draw the line.
We accept that you need inequality to encourage invention and productivity, but we know there's something deeply wrong with a world where people scrape by on shit contracts while tech billionaires earn more than many countries.
New Intergenerational Report from the Australian government thinks disaster funding will just be a nice smooth requirement into the future with only a small difference between "paris aligned" [code for 1.5C, which we know will be exceeded already] and "more than 3C" which would be catastropic. !WTF!
An Intergenerational Report published in the year 2026 that does not list climate change as one of the 6 major transitions for Australia to navigate over the next 40 years is not a serious document.
And no, the energy transition is just a small (and relatively easy) subset of climate's impacts.
It's rare to see a mainstream news broadcaster explicitly referencing loss-and-damage finance, climate justice and big-emitter responsibility in its reporting.
So this moment on the BBC's News at Ten really caught my attention.
Report by @azadehmoshiri.bsky.social in Nepal
Extraordinary. Defence’s Celia Perkins says she refused to answer questions on selling off police-used Defence land—despite knowing the answer, coz Shoebridge’s questions are “distressing”🤦♂️
Shoebridge “This isn’t dental surgery! You’re meant to give the answers you know!”🔥 ffs
That imagery of the Himalayan tsunami smashing into the multi-story building in Nepal was horrifying, but then murder always is, isn’t it? That’s what happened at that border crossing: mass murder

Watch as the East Pacific Morphs into a Monster El Niño - the strongest ever observed! This shows how surface and subsurface temperatures have heated dramatically since (relative to) last fall. The heat travels there under the surface from an overheated West Pacific Warm Pool… 1/
It’s official: the Nerd Reich podcast is getting banned from YouTube….the week of my book launch!
Incredible timing, since I’ll be all over the media next week talking about tech fascism.

For centuries, the rock was seen as a warning. When it began to emerge from the Danube, beneath Gellért Hill in Budapest, it meant the river had fallen so low that floating mills could no longer operate, crops were probably failing, and hunger would follow.

This is spot on from @iandunt.bsky.social as to the limits of Farage trying to play Trumpian games with the British electorate. We're simply not culturally primed for it in the UK in the way the US has been over many decades.
While millions of Australians are worried about paying the mortgage, affording food or insurance, the Australian Submarine Agency, that’s meant to be building AUKUS nuclear submarines, has been literally having a ball at the public expense.

The reason the world is upset with Israel is because of the 700,000+ innocent Palestinians they’ve murdered.
It’s not because they’re Jewish. Hope that helps.
Jewish Australian Yasmin Johnson says to claim ‘River to the sea’ is antisemitic because some Jews are offended, is a “smear on the Palestine movement”
Says during the civil rights era, racist white ppl also claimed to be threatened by black ppl.
Feelings weren’t the point.💥
Mentally, one of the most difficult things about modern life is watching the planet burn, understanding why it's burning but having swathes of people with the analytical powers of a tree frog influenced by Big Petro to genuinely believe it's a hoax
