1. Not sure when a new, on-the-record rape allegation against a sitting president isn’t considered news — especially considering Trump was found liable by a jury in a similar case — but it was ignored by most mainstream media outlets

People who think embracing GOP hatred of trans people is the only way for Democrats to win in that part of the country should remember that in 2025, John Ewing became the first Black mayor of Omaha NE by running this ad. He beat Republican incumbent Jean Stothert by 12 points.

Erin Reed@erininthemorning.com

Josh Turek of Iowa, Democrat, comes out with one of the worst anti-trans ads yet. Not only is it an anti-sports ad, it proposes a ban on federal funding for gender affirming care. That would hit all medicaid and medicare patients, and any ACA federally-subsidized plans as well. Horrific.

“the uninsured rate would soar to 11% this year due to changes contained in the One Big Ugly Bill passed by the Republican-controlled Congress and signed into law by Donald Trump in July 2025. That would be a 37% increase from early 2025.”

Merrill Goozner@gooznews.bsky.social

A new poll out yesterday of over 9,000 representative adults shows the health care uninsured rate soared 37% this year. Nobody in the mainstream media covered it. See: gooznews.substack.com/p/uninsured-...

Ramaswamy has produced an attack ad weaponizing the rape of his opponent, Amy Acton, when she was 12 years old. It features Acton’s mother, who abandoned Acton after she was raped by her step-father, fleeing the state with her husband. Here is the corporate money helping fund that ad.

I feel obliged to once again reiterate that lay offs and closures are not a reaction to the economy, but a failure of leadership. Each wave of closures and layoffs should be looked upon as a consequence of greed and incompetence. If you can't keep your people employed, you are bad at your job.

Bangladesh is battling to contain the world’s worst measles outbreak, a crisis exacerbated by weak data, inadequate outreach and vaccination gaps that experts say offers a warning to other nations about the deadly risk of falling vaccine rates.
