I couldn't fall asleep the night of Nov 7th because I was so upset at the election results. So I sat up in bed and wrote the following on another social media space. (There will be expletives.)🧵

I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement. For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced.

wrote on saturday that trump was not going to let democrats avoid the question of impeachment and here we are with an offense that would have had a president impeached, removed and *at least* exiled if it had happened at any point prior to now.

ok heres one democratic senator being clear and unambiguous about this. anyone else want to step up?

Tina Smith@smith.senate.gov

I’m outraged by this attack on Representative Omar. Trump and his DOJ have a bizarre obsession with tearing down Minnesota, our leaders and our communities. This latest action, even as voting has already started in Minnesota, is a transparent attempt to interfere in our elections.

Donald Trump is going after his political opponents. The raid targeting Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is an abuse of power. Last week, Trump attempted to incite a race war against the Somali community, and today he’s abusing his power by going after our congresswoman. Jason Chavez

most of the headlines about this are complicit with the fascists in power, but let’s be clear: they raided her house because of who she is, not because she’s done anything to justify this treatment. the president shouldn’t be able to weaponize the government against his political enemies.

For me, the biggest takeaway from the WSJ opinion page's genuinely funny "Supreme Court expansion is actually SECRETLY UNCONSTITUTIONAL" column is that conservative pundits are terrified of Supreme Court expansion and desperate for ways they can prevent it

ballsandstrikes.org“Is Court Packing Constitutional?” and Other Questions Easily Answered By Reading the ConstitutionThe Constitution empowers Congress to set the number of justices on the Supreme Court. Only one columnist dares to ask: What if it didn’t?

Musk is already underwater in polls and if Democrats lean in they can make him even more toxic. He's declared open war on you all and is pushing a toxic, destructive, racist agenda. Maybe it's time to push back? I don't know, I'm just spitballing here.

ok but "the future" they are promising is "we destroy your jobs and maybe build a dark god of genocide" so perhaps winning these people back is not the wisest electoral move

CalMatters@calmatters.org

Opinion | Democrats have lost Silicon Valley. Here's what it will take to win it back If Democrats want to become the party of the future again, they need to stop treating the people building the future like political enemies.

AI companies: This technology we’re developing is dangerous and might destroy humanity and we don’t know how to stop it Other people: So we should strictly regulate it, create legislative guard rails, and monitor its development? AI companies: lol no the opposite of all that & give us more money

So Elk River. A place I only know for traffic jams going to lakes & ruby-red politics. How red? Gun-toting popinjay Eric Lucero is the state senator. Walter Hudson reps the next-door house district. Big Lake. Otsego. Albertville. If you see a Strib letter from there, you cringe. A DFL dead zone. 1/

Words I never thought I’d type: had an inspiring experience in Elk River. Details tomorrow.

the fact that john ossoff can kick off a two-day media cycle by saying that the president is uninterested in doing his job and is sleeping through meetings and traveling around with a young blonde, suggests that not enough of these guys are speaking plainly and effectively about these assholes

The fundraising texts you delete are working on someone. It’s infuriating and heartbreaking. An 85yo in Ohio gave more than double the value of his home. A 91yo in an Indianapolis senior facility gave 25K times. The DCCC/DSCC don’t just tolerate the spammers who exploit seniors. They take part.

See, this is an issue for me because in many ways Metro Surge went pretty poorly. I, for one, have a fairly negative view of the whole thing, really. I suspect others may feel the same way.

I think part of the pundit crack-up has been that they missed the big call of their lifetimes about which was the bigger threat to America: wokeness or authoritarianism. And rather than admitting that, they are doubling down on wokeness, while ignoring an authoritarianism that does not threaten them

Sam Ulmschneider@samulmschneider.bsky.social

Normally I just appreciatively read @jamellebouie.net 's columns-sharable video content just isn't my bag. But this is a very, very, very trenchant piece of commentary that captures a lot of how I increasingly understand the disjunction between the commentary environment and on-the-ground politics.

You'll never find the words to convince people who don't want to be convinced. Terminology only matters to a receptive audience. An audience with a preconceived notion that things are fine will find issue with anything you say about how they are not. You will burn all your energy on White moderates.

wanderingmind99.bsky.social@wanderingmind99.bsky.social

It may seem petty but terminology matters. Anger on the left gives us words like Defund and Abolish, implying termination of the service which turns off a majority of voters when it comes to police and immigration enforcement. Can we start with Demilitarize the police? Or restructure or reimagine?

Oh no baby why are you making this judge learn about prompt injections

Mike Ensminger Fan Account@laplanck.bsky.social

First time I've seen a court issue sanctions for prompt injection in a brief. Pro se plaintiff tries prompt injection (here, white text in tiny font) because he thinks the judge will just use some LLM to read the papers and write a ruling. Judge sees through the ruse.

The funniest part is that what Kang was demanding @kleinman.bsky.social say to TAH's face was ... "hey, guys, you don't have to have an opinion about TAH." *That* was what set him off. Attention must be paid! And it must be paid in person, over at Elon's White Pride CSAM Emporium.

We are going to regret this. Our support for this. We the very lucky to be still be alive will regret it sooner or later. We might even tell ourselves somewhere down the line that we never did in the first place. That we in fact opposed it. That we knew right from wrong when it was happening.

the next president has a duty to the country to prove that “tax immunity” is a completely made up thing that doesnt exist. they need to do this through intense prosecution to signal to future leaders what will happen if they try this

Kyle Griffin@kylegriffin1.bsky.social

FLAG: Trump gets to keep tax immunity for himself, his sons, and the Trump Organization under the new 'deal' struck by Todd Blanche. The new order also reaffirms that Trump won't have to pay any taxes he might have owed the IRS.
