What is the BBC's justification for maintaining this level of coverage of Reform now it has slipped into third place?
BBC News just interrupted its coverage to go, live, to Nigel Farage - a man with no contitutional standing in our setup - responding to the budget - a document which nobody has seen yet. WHY

I mean… How long do we have to put up with this shit? We really do get it. Farage’s greed makes him an insane security threat. And there’s absolutely nothing altruistic or democratic or good for the country that will come from his frenzied corruption. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

fascinating that Reform's priority seems to be going to war with ITV over its documentary rather than cracking down on the root problem www.ft.com/content/3d67...

This won't go anywhere, obviously, but it's still a useful indication of how they'd act if they ever get into Government. Locking up journalists would just be the start
Reform UK said it has reported ITV to the police following the broadcaster’s expose which revealed racist remarks by members of the party The allegations involve an undercover reporter "doctoring" a passport and others canvassing for Reform in Portsmouth pressgazette.co.uk/news/reform-...

In this undercover footage, Nigel Farage's righthand man, Dan Jukes, appears to suggest that corruption, with Farage, is "priced in". Like Trump, he uses politics to enrich himself. Don't let anyone claim they were not warned. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

The undercover reporter suggested people did not mind if Farage “makes a few bob [from politics]” Jukes replied: “Well it’s a bit priced in with our Nige, isn’t it, no one’s voting for him to be the pope” But a racist, corrupt, security-risk PM is fine, is it? www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

You may have seen reports about the campaign for charities to be more 'transparent' about who funds them. Well it turns out the mysterious new right-wing think tank behind it won't say who funds or runs them, and used fake names for the authors of the report which launched their campaign

It would be hilarious, if it were not so sinister.

To give an indication of the problem here's a chart of 12 government agencies around the world and numbers of applications / appeals / complaints etc... The dotted grey line is when ChatGPT was invented.
On the substack this week... I looked at how states are being increasingly overwhelmed with AI written slop. It's gumming up every process. Britain is particularly vulnerable. How bad has it got and what can we do about it? samf.substack.com/p/drowning-i...

Not bombshells. Entirely on brand “appalling behaviour” and “extreme racism” from an appalling, extreme and racist party, led by an appalling, extreme and racist man. The apples are all rotten because the tree is. www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/poli...

Usual hand-wringing about returning to division and inaction, not getting the same opt-outs etc… but arguments to rejoin trump those what-ifs. Going it alone in a world dominated by Putin, Trump and China is strategically idiotic and economically ruinous. Shaking your head at that is red-flag-dim.
George Monbiot explains why the UK should rejoin the EU, "There's a reason why Russia tried to intervene in the Brexit vote, they knew that it would harm the UK and the EU if we left" "They were very clear about that and boy have they been proved right"

“Reform has to take ever more extreme positions to keep winning headlines. As horrific as Jenrick’s comments are, they should be understood less as a policy proposal than as the political equivalent of a toddler acting out for attention.” Cruelty is weakness. liveapp.inews.co.uk/category/482...

Rejoin the EU 28 September 2025 '#Farage has denied being in the pay of Russians, but with photographs like this and his background working for RT, a TV channel owned by the Russian state, it is hard to believe him. Do you think he is in the pay of the Russian state?' Facebook

Jenrick’s been on quite the journey from a one nation, Remain-voting Tory, through to frothing Brexiter and on to demanding that Royal Marines murder people at sea for daring to seek refuge here. All to impress the country’s racist losers and maybe get a few more votes. Christ he’s repulsive.
Robert Jenrick for Reform says that Royal Marines using "lethal force" on small boats could end it in days. "Deploy the Royal Marines into the Channel. If they need to use lethal force then they'll be able to do so. I think the problem would come to an end within a matter of days."

Brexit is forever tainted with disinformation, foreign interference, murky vested interests, ugly prejudice, unforgivable costs and now deep unpopularity. If you really cared about our country and wanted to fix its problems, you’d admit this… Good that Burnham is finally doing so…
Andy Burnham confirms what previous PM's - May, Johnson, Truss, Sunak and Starmer - failed to, that Russia interfered in the Brexit referendum.
