The lessons from Brazil and Serbia? Don't concede one inch of ground to the far right. Don't appease. Don't triangulate. Don't grovel. Don't say they have "legitimate concerns". Mobilise your base, and fight them with all the democratic means at your disposal.

Never forget that David Ellison's Skydance Media was originally created so he could be an actor. Skydance's first film was 'Flyboys' starring James Franco and... David Ellison. David and his daddy invested $60m to make Flyboys. It grossed $17m Here's a bit of David's acting:

The latest update in the rogue A.I. saga: OpenAI agents that were supposed to be performing mundane data requests for things like health data, historic photos and wait times at theme parks resorted to hacking attempts when they couldn't access the data they wanted www.nytimes.com/2026/09/23/t...

For my sins, I see way too much content and even I’ve only encountered the song in glancing and meta ways, like being scolded to acknowledge its popularity. It’s easier to top the charts w/o reaching everybody today bc we don’t have a monoculture, and that’s not the fault of individual consumers.

This kind of take made a Rolling Stone writer so mad they wrote a whole piece about it.

We were watching the Wolverine Sentinel footage, and... We used to call these "high chair boss battles" because the boss looks like a baby in a high chair and you're on their tray. Now you have to see it, too 😅

I know it's not Wrensday Wednesday, but I visited the Arid Lands again this afternoon and got some nice shots of the white-winged fairywrens there. Here's one on the ground. Quite a contrast - the electric blue against the red earth.

“Where do you think you’re going?” “Band practice, I told you.” “Is your homework done?” “Yes, DAD.” “Be home by 6 for dinner.” “But-“ “No buts, Mom’s making your favorite.”

I guess boycotting Harry Potter feels pretty trivial to me, because I'm an adult. if someone told me I shouldn't eat Gerber's baby food, I'd be like, that is no problem. I'm way ahead of you

Even the height of the Greed is Good '80s gave us Scrooged, which remains hilarious and retains the spirit of the original (with plenty of anti-apartheid set dressing in the background, to boot.) It feel like only the age of septic tech barony could produce the Depp-Scrooge.

Whoever’s voice I’m not familiar with on ESPN doing color for the Shelton match made me change the channel. Way too much emphasis on the coach, couldn’t shut up about Bryan in an odd way that goes further than most talk about coaches. I was more interested in the Tiafoe match at that point anyways.
