Rather than recalculate these, Labor passed new legislation to retrospectively validate debts they had already conceded were illegal. Now people are having to go back decades to find evidence with which to defend themselves. This is beyond indefensible. Spitting in the faces of Robodebt victims.

Ted O’Brien gets shredded on Today, after being repeatedly pressed, he still can’t explain how the Duty of Care bill is a form of censorship Jeffreys “I’m still not sure how it’s censorship judging by that answer”💥 Shoebridge “It plainly isn’t…”💥 Embarrassing stuff.

Far out. These financials are dire. Quick, let’s override every legal, moral, regulatory and environmental objection and hitch our economy to it…

I'd filed a Hanson/ Lambie cartoon for today but it seemed a bit tin eared with what's happened in Indi so I did a new, last minute one this morning. I had a few ideas about division & dark days but thought I'd focus on something that's bringing people together instead. Here's to Helen Haines.

Still trying to understand how Napster got shut down, but Anthropic is going public and still hasn’t paid us authors yet after stealing our work.

Dear Reserve Banks of the world, Why can’t you just be honest & admit raising the rate will only make inflation worse? Why raise the rate & make it worse? I get it you only have a hammer in your toolbox! Doesn’t mean you gotta use it! 🕊️💙🦋 (Economics lesson in attached thread)

Nerdy Thread: Economics Lesson 1/ As a student of economics I learnt that increasing the cash rate reduced inflation by lowering demand which led to lowering prices. Makes sense. That’s because my textbook was written at a time when the economy sorta ran on credit…

nice to see prime minister is putting his foot down and making it clear that if you hack the Australian government, he will say it is ‘concerning’ then roll over and continue with his plans to change the law so you can steal from Aussie artists

This is an extraordinary act of direct foreign interference by the US embassy in domestic Australian politics. The Australian government should publicly respond by rejecting efforts by the US embassy to dictate how Australia legislates for a digital duty of care.

Hey @albomp.bsky.social Marles does not speak for me either.

Michael Dowling aka MeckeringBoy@meckeringboy.bsky.social

Marles does NOT speak for me. He has zero mandate to claim that Australians want closer ties and loss of sovereignty to the US military industrial complex. Tell Richard Marles to pack his bags and move to the US if HE wants closer ties with the demented IS regime. Leave us in peace, Dickie.
