Early this year, I visited Ingram, a TX town of ~1,900, to check out a tip. The area was starting to recover from its worst flood in a century. But as Latino workers drove to jobsites to help rebuild, the tipster said, a cop in a black Dodge Charger kept stopping them ... 🧵

I like to think that the AI business question is "if I have a never-ending stream of 1st year PhD students who have no background in your business, can you use that?" And some problems that's a yes and some problems, that's a no.

There was a fucking hole in our planet’s *atmosphere* Like a legit, no joke, “this will unravel our entire ecosystem” hole in the world, and then we fixed it by working together across national and political lines As a species we decided, “we will survive” Let’s do that some more

I don't understand. The WH made very clear that they're not going to accelerate the war until after the elections so that oil prices can go down and antiwar voters can support Republicans. How did that clever manuever fail? Must have been Soros.

The continued indignities Trump keeps trying to force onto Ukraine and Zelenskyy are just so enraging. This is a five alarm fire, but people just do not care. The press is reporting on it, but there isn’t really that clear, red letter “U.S. has abandoned Europe for Russia” headline that’s needed.

The idea that the US deliberately humiliated Russia in the 1990s is a bizarre myth. We were overtly solicitous and supportive of them and their hurt feelings. We just didn’t accept their claim that the nations or Eastern Europe could never seek their own destiny.

The US and the West welcomed Russia into the community of nations after the Cold War. Investment poured in. The G7 turned into G8. The idea that Poland, Estonia, etc. forming their own foreign relations was so unfair to Moscow that Russia is entitled to murder Ukrainians 20 years later is insane.
