DHS should be embarrassed that their ICE agent hires are so soft they can’t handle being videotaped, even while masked, so they resort to pepper spraying women at close range. And we should be proud of the Santa Barbara women who stood their ground anyway.

I really want to see someone doing the “I’m just a simple country lawyer” shtick, but in complex federal commercial litigation between two or more multinational corporations. I feel like that would be a good bit.

“Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, I’m just a simple country lawyer. My client, Global Solutions Holdings Conglomerate, LLC is an honest business just trying to turn a profit and put food on the plates for its shareholders. There was no breach of contract here!”

That is an ICE agent pepper spraying a restrained victim in the face at close quarters; it's an unquestionable and indefensibly abusive use of excessive force that should (but won't) be criminally prosecuted as assault

Ahh, okay, so one of the federal agencies will not be challenging the merger. Good to know. @nmdoj.bsky.social, care to use your Clayton Act authority and step up to protect competition in the film industry?

It’s beyond insane that our overarching internal security agency has spent months tweeting barely-coded messages of support for neo-Nazi groups and the entire media apparatus looks at it and says “That’s odd but certainly not part a major story that is relevant to current events, I’m sure”

This is right, but I'd add that #1 is only unclear because of a pretty perverse line of authority that doesn't need to be that way.

The problem is, there are two key questions here: 1. Was the use of force legally justified? 2. Was Ms. Good a "domestic terrorist" who tried to run him down, as the VP and the entire Trump admin is claiming? The answer to 1 isn't entirely clear. The answer to 2 is pretty decisively no.

Major advertisers appeared to sit out a new CBS News town hall telecast Saturday, moderated by Bari Weiss and featuring an interview with Erika Kirk. Lack of Madison Avenue support could challenge the viability of the format, which Weiss wants to expand variety.com/2025/tv/news...

Just an unbelievably stupid comment. Even if you buy into the framing of demand, it has an essentially vertical demand curve. People will become homeless before they stop “consuming” healthcare because that is a rational choice! Because the alternative is *dying*!

You have to have an extremely low level of empathy and compassion to become a billionaire in the first place (can’t get there without exploiting many people). But to then have the resources to legitimately treat people like commodities you control… it must genuinely deteriorate your humanity.

For example, bones need resistance to maintain density. They demineralize quickly once resistance stops — a problem in zero gravity space. When people stop exercising, their hips start to break. Humans aren't made for zero resistance. Guys who can buy *anything* are doing this to their BRAINS.
