Full stop, if you couldn't observe that Elizabeth Holmes is straightforwardly, unequivocally a liar just from what was shown in the film, then you shouldn't be writing media criticism of any type

“'You Can See Everything' is a hilarious, thrilling, fascinating, beautiful piece of art. What it certainly is not is a documentary, and it’s dangerous to pretend that it is,” writes Theranos whistleblower Tyler Shultz. https://bit.ly/4Bk2nDJ

I don't know that there is a definitive line to cross that makes you say, "I live in a police state now" but when masked gunmen can routinely brutalize the public, citizen or immigrant alike, with impunity, you have reached that point.

imagine if a democratic candidate anywhere said something like this about a jewish candidate, would be a ten-alarm fire in every media outlet for days. but the literal president promoting this sort of insane bigotry against a muslim won't even merit a story

Lula winning is great for the planet, great for Brazil, and great for people who aren't revanchist assholes everywhere in the world, but let's not forget that it's also going to make some of the worst people on Earth extremely sad and mad. We should enjoy that, as a little treat.

I think people intuitively understand that democratic candidates tossing trans kids to the wolves is not only morally repugnant but also politically ineffective, otherwise they wouldn't freak out every time someone said they weren't voting for a democrat who did this

With major media being captured by the far right, I wonder if most people don't just tune it out/view it as slop. Of course the disillusionment isn't a good thing, but maybe it doesn't immediately brainwash everyone That being said they should all have their wealth stripped from them asap, and more

Noticed a persistent, hacking cough, even though you’re perfectly healthy? You probably have Healthy Cough, the new type of cough developed especially and exclusively for people at the peak of health. Healthy Cough. “Oh, don’t worry about my Cough—it’s Healthy!”

I mean you gotta feed bad for this young chud. You're getting fed nazi propaganda from your parents from the fifth grade on. He thinks he is on some crusade, but has no clue what is real or not, what morality is. They might have ruined his life

Michael Fusella supported President Trump for nearly a decade. But as the Iran war drags on and the cost of living continues to climb, the 21-year-old Republican said he feels betrayed by a president who said he’d end overseas conflicts and lower prices.

Are people really coming out of You Can See Everything believing that Elizabeth Holmes came off well or that she ultimately "won?" Or are people not thinking that themselves, but worrying that the average person might be duped into feeling that way?

The reason I say this is because it is fuckin very straightforward what Fielder thinks of Holmes, and he goes to great lengths to show this to you. Sometimes he even says it out loud

If this propaganda from both centrist libs and the right works, and el-sayed loses to his fascist opponent, then we honestly might be cooked. We have to quickly make this racist viewpoint politically and socially costly to the point of exile

Unfortunately there are people who care about trans people having rights who are not trans people themselves and I’m sure that the number will suddenly grow exponentially post election when candidates have lost and you’re looking for someone to blame that isn’t the candidates themselves

If you would try to win by abandoning trans people (or any targeted group) you can save this “we need to win” talk; there is no “we.” I am about solidarity, and you have chosen anti-solidarity. You are not any “we” I recognize. You are the enemy I’m trying to defeat. Beating you is how my “we” wins.

It is so obvious that AI companies emphasize training their products with self-awareness language. This is a huge priority for them. Then they trot out tests that were designed to demonstrate exactly what they were trained to do. The product was written for the test, not vice versa

This serves as marketing for the companies. This all must be earth-shatteringly important if the AI seems to be awakening, right?? All the while, the facade of self-awareness drives people to psychosis in a much more direct route. They want you to believe that you have an obligation to their product

It is a similar tactic to Elon's fake car. He needs to be perceived as being fully on the vanguard. He is a visionary, and greatness/abundance are right around the corner. But it is all a lie to make money and build power for specific individuals. There is no endgame where their utopia emerges
