UPDATE : New bollards are here 🥳 #EdTravCyc

Jester mouse@jestermouse.bsky.social

🚲 Bikes are allowed along Tarvit Street, so why is the whole road blocked off @stephenjenkinson.bsky.social ? #EdTravCyc

Planters and bollards going in at Tarvit Street! I thought I would never see the day etc #EdTravCyc

OMG it looks like the cycle button (to the left of the red light next to the cycle lane in the photo) and corresponding 🚲 🚦 is FINALY in operation at Haymarket! #EdTravCyc

Road is still closed but The Innocent Path is not restricted. The crossing itself is out of action, but with the road closed there's no need for it and you can cross a few metres east. #EdTravCyc Token picture of broken water main.

Seen a report (Reddit) of a burst water main on Duddingston Park South which looks like it's taken the Innocent Path crossing out of action. #EdTravCyc www.reddit.com/r/Edinburgh/...

An insight into cycling trends - the introduction of Voi bikes has added about 500 additional cyclists per day to Leith Walk; the tram closure added another 250 at the peak. The Voi effect is much larger at the weekend, while the inverse is true for the tram.

In this tenth year of the #CyclingChampionAwards, and following a summer of nominations, the panel chose Ben in recognition of his impact with cycling campaign and newsletter @edi.bike and for bringing campaigners from across Scotland together with the return of Pedal on Parliament in May 2026.

#EdTravCyc and pedestrians: it is now possible to walk round the back of the Constitution/Baltic St junction, through Tower St, which now joins up with the new Margaret Thomson Cres, leading through to Bath Rd opposite Salamander Pl, avoiding a little bit of the unpleasant Baltic and Salamander St

You’ve got to be joking… Worst Festival show ever… Seriously is this it?! What’s the safe alternative route? Not even a QR code to link to more information. At least the single occupancy car shown feels appropriate! Perhaps CEC could add these signs on approach to Greyfriars Bobby 🙃

New modal filter just dropped! Both sides of Bruntsfield Links now reconnected ⛳️ 🦮 🏃🏻‍♂️👫 Essential traffic functioning normally (wish it were permanent) #EdCycTrav

Careful of the bike racks at Morrisons on Ferry Rd, Edinburgh - a couple of them can be lifted right out of the paving. #EdTravCyc 🚲 🔐

This newly re-done junction at Summerhall puts cyclists at serious risk of left-hooks The desireline for people on bikes is straight on, but for cars it’s turning left Suitable for ages 8 to 80 ??? - We think not Edinburgh’s roads designers are morally bankrupt!

You should definitely visit Dune on Queensferry High Street but now pedestrian protection has been removed forever - as part of a "new" design, you should also be prepared to hardly any space on the pavement and motor vehicles driving right at you if you're cycling 🤯

Five years ago, young kids could ride themselves through (small) parts of central Edinburgh, until the council got cold feet. This kid will grow up and have their own kids before this street gets back to 2021. Why are other UK cities leaving Edinburgh so far behind?

johnrobson87.bsky.social reposted

Simply love the reopened North Bridge, where Edinburgh Council took advantage of eight years of works to put active travel and pedestrians first

Rejoice! Edinburgh’s got a new contender for the world’s worst cycle lane! Imagine a dark stormy night 😱 - needs a “cyclist dismount”, “road narrows on left”, “cycle lane closed” or whatever sign. Or maybe make the “keep right”permanent?

Replying to @morningsider.bsky.social

Nothing at all could go wrong there... bsky.app/profile/john...

💦 Didn’t they foresee the splashing risk due to blocking drainage or is the puddle especially for cycles? The exit markings at Candlemaker Row MUST be realigned as the cycle markings lead directly into kerb & visibility for buses etc exiting is blocked 🙄 A primary cycle route downgrade yet again 🙁

FYI @spokes.org.uk @edi.bike @sw20.info @livingstreetsedi.bsky.social Also does anyone know if the lane / track via Lymphoy from Currie to Malleny is cyclable? This would avoid the busy Lanark Rd West.

Edinburgh Council have informed us they have closed the Walkway at Kinauld Tan Works Footbridge (Approx. Location: w3w.co/minute.guise...) as a hole has appeared in the bridge. There is no through route over this bridge in either direction . It will be closed all weekend diversion via lanark rd,
