It’s really quite a relief not to have to play those stupid made for baby songs. Especially the ones sung by kids who sounds like no kids you’ve ever met. They make my hearing aids shriek.

I've cared for 7 infants (not counting last-century babysitting) and baby James is the first instantly quieted by Louis Armstrong's trumpet. Maybe I just never tried with the others.🎶🎺

SCOOP: 'Tommy' from the now-viral exchange with Abdul El-Sayed is Thomas Teepell, a former staffer for Republican Senator Josh Hawley with close ties to Christian Nationalist Sean Feucht. He's the son of a former Bobby Jindal staffer whose consultant work was instrumental in getting Hawley elected.

Very cool!

Harvested from tiny blisters on the trunk, balsam fir resin was used in the optical industry as a glue. Made into a turpentine, it dries very hard and has a similar optical index to some glass. It was used for decades to glue lens elements and prisms and make permanent microscope slides. 🌿

Great piece by Lisa Needham for Aaron Rupar’s Public Notice: Trump meme coin investors, including rich foreigners, have lost $3.81 billion but gained an opportunity to bribe the president of the United States. It’s mindblowingly corrupt.

New in PN: Trump’s meme coin grift hits a new low "It’s the certainty of staggering losses that makes clear this is nothing but a festival of bribery. No one who spends millions to attend these tacky dinners expects a return. They’re just giving the president money in hopes it'll buy them favors."

So excited to see late blooms I forgot the ALT. Mea culpa. Small bright yellow flowers on long stems bloom in the middle of a patch of browning Joe Pie weed. Across a narrow path is a patch of dark pink sedum flowers and a large daisy mum getting ready to bloom. In back ia stand of eastern hemlock.
