A 2025 Nobel Prize winner in chemistry, Omar Yaghi is the son of Palestinian refugees who grew up in Jordan. He just left the US to move to China after raising concerns about rising anti-immigrant sentiment, like the kind shown here. donmoynihan.substack.com/p/china-than...
RFK: "There's five hundred million Arabs in the world. And yet they don't produce science. They don't win the Nobel Prize. They don't win the Fields Prize. They don't win the Wolf Prize. They don't produce literature."

Meanwhile at the BBC …..
This went on for the rest of the full hour, at which point the BBC apologised for having to go to the weather and urged viewers to follow continuing live coverage on iPlayer. Forty-one minutes of unfiltered, unchallenged propaganda by a far right party with 8 MPs, now third in the polls. Discuss.

UK Establishment Press boosting the Far-Right the exact same way the US media did in the mid-2010's by treating any time Donald Trump spoke as live breaking news
BBC News just interrupted its coverage to go, live, to Nigel Farage - a man with no contitutional standing in our setup - responding to the budget - a document which nobody has seen yet. WHY

👉 He says the British public must be the bosses. 👍 2016 asked whether Britain should leave the EU. It did NOT ask whether we should leave the Single Market, end freedom of movement, leave the customs union, or adopt the hardest possible version of Brexit. Those choices came later.

Our polling shows 63% of people support freedom of movement with the EU. Andy Burnham's catching up with the country on this. Watch @pimlicat.bsky.social on Politics Live 👇

Occasional reminder that whatever Nigel Farage & Brexiters claim, the EU Referendum wasn't "the greatest democratic exercise in British history". 1992 election had a higher turnout number / percentage 1992 Total votes cast: 33,614,074 turnout: 77.7% EUref Total votes cast: 33,577,342 turnout: 72.21%

God she is such a Karen. The outrage in how she asks him this is infuriating. I caught a clip earlier of her accusing him of spooking the country by recommending people have an emergency stash of essentials. You can just tell that the only viewers they get now are miserable old boomers.

Our NHS has been hollowed out over the last few decades. Thank you @premnsikka.bsky.social The UK has 2.4 NHS beds PER 1,000 people Japan: 12.6 Germany: 7.7 Austria: 6.6 France: 5.4 OECD average: 4.2 This is why we have the disgrace of corridor care. It's time to invest and rebuild our NHS

Wait.... 29% of Reform voters would consider rejoining the EU... and 16% don't know And a mere 51% would vote to stay out. My giddy aunt - this is bonkers
Public opinion on future UK-EU relationship not yet certain of how far to go. On "join" a 46-29 plurality - with much debate to come, if govt proposed to go all the way in Starting points Labour 64-17 join LibDem 64-16 join Green 67-16 join Conservatives 39-46 stay out Reform 29-51 stay out
