Anti-Substack Labeler: Substack Funds Nazis

Hi! This is a labeler account meant to identify Substack links. If you didn't know, Substack actively courts and platforms Nazis. If you quit X/Twitter because of the Nazi problem, well, what are you still doing on Substack? There are plenty of alternatives which may be more cost-effective for you.

I think it's good now? I am hopeful that it will backfill labels from posts while it was down but no guarantee. I'm keeping a close eye on everything and will continue to triage if necessary.

Jk it's not working, please stand by

Okay I think everything is working!!! If you notice any problems please tag @uncivil.work

Labeler will be down temporarily while I work on some issues! Hopefully won't take very long.

Sorry for the labeler going down a bunch today. I'm trying to figure out *why* it is doing this and the most infuriating part of troubleshooting right now is that I need to wait for it to crash to try to figure out why it crashed but due to my own incompetence I am not getting any data from crashes.

I don't subscribe to any Substacks because that company has platformed and promoted Nazis. I switched away from Shopify because they platform horrible people. I deleted X because that fucker is one of the worst people on the planet. Why the hell would I ever use an OpenAI product?

okay: I've started a theme park / immersive entertainment blog / newsletter thing, in time for D23 and the opening of NightFlight Expedition at Dollywood. easily-amused.beehiiv.com

I'm sure your writing is great, insightful, helpful, etc. I know you can host for free on Substack. But you have so many options out there which allow you to host a free blog or newsletter and *don't* give money to Nazis, and it is really quite simple to post your writing there instead.

Maybe write and say, "You are one of my favorite xxxx's and I would love to subscribe, but I don't use Substack because it is a nazi-friendly platform. If you published at Ghost, beehiiv, etc., I'd subscribe in a heartbeat. "

Since yesterday I got Leaflet Pro and now I know that you 𝗱𝗼 read my blog so there's no turning back now: New articles 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 follow soon. Let's go! And while we're at it: Just leave substack and create a @leaflet.pub. It is 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 easy.

You can leave substack by the way They even have a useful page on how to export your posts so you can upload them somewhere else support.substack.com/hc/en-us/art...

I just moved all of my creative writing newsletter stuff from Substack to Beehiiv for those of you that want to sign up to be notified whenever my next book, "Ghost in the Machine," comes out next year. Or just keep following me here on Bluesky; whatever floats ya boat. bigeasypress.beehiiv.com

Hey! OK, I know this looks technical if you aren't a technical person, but if you do have a technical person on your team, this will look straightforward to them—created by the great @werd.io

I'm so glad you asked! Aren't those link cards cool? We'd also love to add a "subscribe" button that gets you right to payment and membership. This is our new @standard.site integration, so yes, a backend thing but also fairly straightforward. WordPress built a plug-in; let me check on Ghost!

We've enhanced Bluesky link cards! Now when you share your newsletter's archive links on Bluesky they appear as rich, branded cards.💙 🦋 buttondown.com/blog/bluesky...

Buttondown now has a built-in @standard.site integration that publishes records to your PDS alongside your newsletters.

Me too. Fortunately, if you subscribe to this labeler you can make sure you never click on a Substack link again (at least on this website).

An alternative to Substack you say? I'm intrigued.

Was about to say it's back up when it suddenly went down again and I don't know why!!!

Labeler is experiencing some issues right now with jetstream. Trying to figure out what's wrong now. Thanks for your patience!

I wrote about Naomi Klein joining Substack and why writers of conscience shouldn't launch new media ventures on platforms that court white supremacy for clicks.

Hi all! Some noticed I’ve not been active on my newsletter I’ve decided to leave #Substack, and move my publication to a platform that aligns with my values I can’t continue to enjoy a fiscal relationship with a platform that actively champions bigots, so find me here: www.rawtalk.ryanaw.photos

Anyway, I purposely don't have a substack, but you should definitely subscribe to my patreon and/or my ghost. I track ICE flights and third-country removals. Patreon: www.patreon.com/c/worstairli... Ghost: gillianbrockell.com#/portal/supp...
