@jonathancoe.bsky.social one of the benefits of reading The Proof of my Innocence has been that I now enjoy the British Transport Police announcements, instead of being frustrated at “sorted” I warmly remember reading one of my favourite books, thank you

Trees provide shade, there is cool air under trees in the heat, there is shelter from rain and warm air in the cold. Trees need to be mature to do this. Don’t just plant new trees but look after all we have now

I just added my name to ClientEarth's open letter to the new Energy Secretary standing against new drilling in the North Sea. Climate change endangers people, investing in jobs in renewables would be better strategy in my own opinion act.clientearth.org/page/195975/...

act.clientearth.orgStand against North Sea oil and gas drilling: Add your nameI just signed ClientEarth's open letter asking the government to stop new oil and gas drilling in the North Sea. Together, we can take a stand to protect the planet. Will you join me?

How are you? Soaring high enjoying the winter sun light and stormy winds, or sheltering in the moss of a large tree and waiting for the winter time to finish?

I've written to Keir Starmer, Kemi Badenoch and Nigel Farage, urging them to join me in condemning Elon Musk's dangerous remarks inciting violence yesterday. As leaders, we must stand together and make clear Musk will face serious consequences for these actions.

Can anyone explain why the Government is still doing most of its communications through a website whose owner is now openly rallying the far right to trigger a violent insurrection on our streets?

“… England has enough hedges to wrap around the world almost 10 times. They are, by far, the country’s biggest nature reserve…” “… a well-kept, bushy hedgerow is like checking in to the Ritz hotel. They are wildlife superhighways…” Lovely article on the joy & benefits of England’s hedges.

“If a car generates more potholes in our roads, takes up more parking space and poses more danger to pedestrians, cyclists and other car occupants compared with smaller vehicles, then it is only fair that its owner pays more for driving that vehicle”

theguardian.comThe Observer view on SUVs: they are too dangerous and too big, their drivers should be made to payIf a car generates more potholes, takes up more space and poses more risk, it is only fair that its owner pays more

To the world: We are fighting back. Our movement has been silenced by the media here—but we are not backing down. This is what our streets looked like across multiple cities. Tomorrow, there will be more of us! Raise a glass to freedom. —With love, Your American allies.

People often ask what a coalition of 200,000 can do. The answer’s simple — with all our free time (since a lot of us got fired), we’re out here causing a lot of good trouble.

Brexit has never looked quite so ruinously insane as it does right now. And it’s always been idiotic. Alone, outside the EU, needing to improve our relationship with our own continent but also terrified of the wrecking-ball lunatic in the White House. Cornered by our own ‘sovereign’ stupidity.

Poignant letter by a mother: “Don’t worry love, they will never wrestle you from us. They could tariff the air we breathe, seas we swim, valleys we waddle upon. They may hunt us, chase us, imprison us.. and I promise that I will never let their greed corrupt our happiness. With you forever.”
