UAE officials have warned the UK that a severe punishment for Man City could hurt future Emirati investment in Britain, Bloomberg reports. This is the perfect argument for keeping foreign money out of football.

Running around with your friends shouldn't leave you struggling for breath. But for too many of London’s children, polluted air was harming their health. Experts said it would take nearly 200 years to reach legal air quality limits. We did it in nine.

lbc.co.ukWhat ULEZ has done for children’s lungs should silence its loudest critics | LBCUlez's success must be a call to action to carry on in our efforts to improve the air in the UK, writes London mum and clean air campaigner Ruth.

Spot the difference. We didn't 5x the Cycleways network in London overnight. It took vision, hard work, & the conviction to invest in green infrastructure - often in the face of vocal opposition. In 2016, we had 90km of Cycleways. Now we're at 450km. That's progress. And we're not stopping there.

Given that a genuine UKIP policy under Farage was "to make the circle line a circle again" this all looks eminently sane.

This is why the Loomer interview with Zelenskyy is important to Ukraine.

This is an important and necessary interview. It records a public break with Russian narratives and propaganda by part of the MAGA movement. President Trump has already personally shared the first fragments of the conversation on Truth Social with the caption "Very good!!!"⤵️

In November, a lobbying firm approached me and asked to pay me to write articles critical of the Building Safety Regulator for newspapers. Filmed undercover, their staff admitted secretly paying reporters for copy in British newspapers friendly to their clients: www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

As Deputy Attorney General, Todd Blanche fired me for doing my job, then subjected me and my family to months of retaliation. My story is one of many reasons the Senate should not confirm Blanche again. Read and share my letter to the Senate Judiciary Committee. www.lawyeroyer.com/p/my-letter-...

What’s that, Dale? You want to give me an unconditional personal gift of £5million to do whatever I want with? Sure! I just need to fill out a form. If I didn’t declare it that would be silly.

Over 40% of people in Clacton did not vote in the last election- they could make the difference!

We need to spend more on defence. But we can’t survive much more austerity. There are not many levers to pull. But signalling you’ll put EU membership in your next manifesto and begin talks now, would (almost certainly) rally sterling, reduce borrowing costs, boost invsmt & help the headroom.

A big divider when writing technical books is how much "opinions" the author should put into it. Some readers want straight information (reference book). Some want as much opinions as possible, so it becomes a work of "the author's best programming ideas". There's probably a balance.

IMHO possibly the most interesting question in finance and economics right now is the extent to which future AI dominance can retain any monopoly characteristics. People assume because it's "Silicon Valley" that those explosive network effects will necessarily pertain. They really might not... 1/

The government has delivered on pledges on immigration, NHS, policing and workers’ rights. It clearly isn’t helping. Were they the wrong pledges all along? Were they the wrong things to prioritise? Or has Britain become “ungovernable”, as some claim? (I think there’s a decent argument for each.)
