Time to wake the fuck up, America. We were played. Hard. @thedemocrats have lied to us for four years. They were in on it, which is why nothing was done to Trump. There is no difference between the two parties. They conspired against us because they know we’re a nation of fucking idiots.

Congress has vowed to put boundaries around the private equity-style deals in the Pentagon, stripping several offices of the ability to lead equity investments. But that bill hasn't passed yet, and in the meantime, the Pentagon has made $775 million in new investments using outside funds.

Trump taught them you never, ever have to apologize for being a huge piece of shit. performative cruelty is one of the great selling points for MAGA ideology to its adherents! Vivek CANNOT admit fault; to do so is to fail the conservative project entirely. he’ll continue doubling down to the end

Here we have state media (CBS, now under the direction of op-ed writer Bari Weiss and her patrons, Trump mega donors the Ellisons) reprinting the lie that Trump “created” a women’s health division at NIH that has existed since the 1990s.

Great catch by @markjacob.bsky.social. If Jan Crawford really thinks Tommy won this exchange with El-Sayed then it shouldn't be hard for her to answer this simple question.

Mark Jacob@markjacob.bsky.social

I don't know how CBS News can claim it's a nonpartisan news outlet when a prominent CBS correspondent like Jan Crawford goes after Abdul El-Sayed in such a ridiculous manner. Of course, Crawford attended the CBS owners' dinner in honor of Trump, so her MAGA leanings were already well established.

I note to people what the Democrats regaining both houses will demonstrate that we are in the middle of a constitutional crisis, so the Democrats should come loaded for bear.

James Goodwin@jamesgoodwin.bsky.social

If Democrats do capture both chambers, we should be prepared for the worst-case scenario, which is that the Trump administration will act even more aggressively (aided and abetted by the Supreme Court), and demonstrate uncontrovertibly how weak Article I is in our constitutional framework.

Finally, Healy says: "We have used the word authoritarian...in multiple stories." That's not true. They use it infrequently, almost always attributed to a critic. I found all of one recent exception, referring to "his authoritarian instincts." 7/7

Healy: "...we aren’t leaning into language like fascist and liar in our own words. We do quote people who say those things...we do tend to be really careful about the most potent and inflammatory words." If NYT won't call a spade a spade or a fascist a fascist, what are they doing in the business?

“Trying not to be partisan” is the baseline issue here The job is not to walk some equidistant-to-the-poles line The job is tell the truth. If it’s in the zone it’s a strike and if it’s not it’s a ball And if one team is getting a lot more strikes called than balls that’s on them, and that’s fair

Mark Jacobs does a great job here of voicing a widely held critique of the NYT: "There’s just a lack of bravery. I think that you should be writing a headline that says that Donald Trump is assaulting democracy.” AME for "standards" Patrick Healy responds with straw men and mush. 1/7
