scott galloway and jessica tarlov held an event here in town yesterday where “don’t impeach or waste time on investigations because ‘28” was the consensus position of the panel. so yeah, this is something to anticipate.
If Democrats actually win big because people want a check on Trump corruption I expect every move to do so will be covered in the corporate media as being risky to their 2028 position.

Given the news that Meta throttled Lula in Brazil and stories like this one below every Dem state legislature should open an investigation into whether the platforms have attempted to influence elections in their states.

Baldur's Gate 2: Shadows of Amn/Throne of Bhaal. Jon Irenicus is deeply underrated as an all-time video game villain.
What's your "origin" video game? Most gamers have a lot of favorite games, sure, but there's always one that basically 𝘥𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 you: the game that flipped that little switch in your brain and made into a life-long gamer.

i think you can fairly say that the second trump administration is the most racist federal administration since woodrow wilson and honestly i'm not sure that it isn't more racist than wilson's
Tough competition of course, but the Trump admin deciding that white South Africans are the only group of people on earth currently worthy of refugee status has to be the most overtly racist thing any administration has done in decades

"My opponent wants to hire creeps to inspect your daughter's genitals if she wants to play soccer. I wouldn't trust him or any hired weirdo from his pedophile-protecting party alone in a room with any kid." Go on the offensive, you cowards! It's not that hard!
"This election is about the threat of trans kids" is the worst possible messaging for Dems yet so many candidates are leaning into it. No voter will flip R->D over it. Low-info voters read this as "you're focused on bullshit that doesn't affect me" while the base reads this as "you're an asshole."

I've had the bittersweet fortune to see loved ones get to this particular state. It's time to stop parading this man around like he's got any capacity to do anything except sit around all day, and let him have his final days in the peace and comfort he so eagerly denied others.
Safe to say the people of Kentucky are not being represented properly

Honestly, I'd say the most disastrous decisions of Obama and Biden were not really holding anyone accountable for crimes committed under the previous administration. Obama wanted to "turn the page" on Iraq and the financial meltdown while Biden never put any urgency behind the January 6th cases
What was the most disastrous decision from the most recent presidents that had effects we feel today? Clinton: Lying under oath and getting away with it (paved way for Trump) Bush: Iraq Obama: Syria and Libya Trump I: Covid and pulling out of JCPOA Biden: Running again Trump II: Iran

in a lot of ways the current republican government is just the worst, extractive red state governance taken national. total hostility to public goods, total indifference to long-term investment, and a monomaniacal interest in using the state to enrich private benefactors
the food safety stuff is another reminder that a large, huge, gigantic part of being a republican is going “lmao why are we spending money to prevent horrifying disasters from happening if they never happen 🤪”

I would say anything in the category of "baked good filled with fruit." Jelly doughnuts, Fig Newtons, pavlova, Mochi, strudel, an so on. And yes I know Mochi is technically made with sweet beans, not fruit, but I feel like it spiritually counts.
Interrupting our collective doomscrolling to ask the public what the best global culinary creation is. By that, I mean what is your favorite type of dish that was somehow made by every society in some form? Mine is the dumpling.
Notably, 115,000 is still below the roughly 150,000 jobs per month needed to prevent unemployment from rising, so this is still a disappointing number by most metrics.
Employers added 115,000 jobs in April, notching a strong gain for the economy as it faces headwinds from soaring fuel prices, tariffs and immigration restrictions.

This:is 💯 correct. The vast majority of Section 2 litigation (and settlements made under the threat of litigation) have been at the local level. Callais will gut minority representation in city councils, county supervisors, and school boards across the county.
This is perhaps the most significant Supreme Court race-related decision in modern history. While people will focus on Congress, this decision will dismantle thousands of districts electing representatives of minority communities at the state and local levels
Anything matzoh-related. Of course, matzoh itself has the taste and consistency of cardboard, but matzoh ball soup is only marginally better, and that's mostly due to the advantage of flavoring from the soup stock. Only matzoh brei arises to the level of "tolerable," and even then, only just.
What's the worst food from *your* cuisine? None of that "oh, one region over they eat some awful shit." Remove the beam from your own eye. And I'm calling dibs on aspic, so you can't pick that one. My mom threatened to make it for me the other day.

My takeaway from the pandemic is that people were way more traumatized by the interruption to their lives than by all the death and I don’t think people want to think about that because, man, it’s really uncomfortable!
Frankly, I think people tell themselves that the country is outraged and traumatized at being left to death and disease because that's less unsettling than the more obvious explanation, which is that people were largely ambivalent about mitigating COVID risk after the pandemic's most acute phase.

One of the first things I learned, when looking into starting a business, was you need to have a business plan with a realistic idea of how you are going to turn a profit. But I guess once you get into the billionaire range, you can just wait ten years and then decide how you will make money.
Experts have begun to question the AI startup’s path forward amid surging financial needs and no profit plan.

Hey definitely call your senators about this. Like seriously.
BREAKING: The House passed the so-called SAVE America Act which threatens to upend our freedom to vote. The bill could disenfranchise millions of eligible voters by requiring documents like passports or birth certificates to register to vote and forcing voter roll purges. The Senate must reject it.
"I need water to live, therefore any story involving people drowning is anti-water propaganda. That is how we are unlocking opportunities for the new ocean floor real estate industry."
Burgum: "CO2 was never a pollutant. When we breathe, we emit CO2. Plants need CO2 to survive and grow. They thrive with more CO2. So the whole endangerment thing opens up an opportunity for the revival of clean, beautiful, American coal."
